jahneygeee pronounced: johnnyg first post here. Bought a Murray Select about 4-6 weeks ago. Not sure which way I want to go with it, but I want everything so I think I'm gonna go "Rally" style somewhere in between off road and racer. Paid $50 for mower, $20 for the motor with everything stripped off including carb, starter, coil, one of the push rods and rocker arm and most of the bolts. Stripped everything down, cleaned all the rust and old grease off re-painted, re-greased everything. Rewired. I wanted to start with a working mower. It makes troubleshooting easier later. Out of money at the moment so it may be a couple of months before I can start tearing down and rebuilding. Too hot here in Arkansas to weld anyway. This post is partly so I can see how this photo/video post works so here it goes. If this works it will be a link to a Facebook album. Thamks, jahneygeeeAlbum Link

Yea, I have already torn it down and rebuilt it and I can testify these things are not only super light weight but also super simple. Small but have plenty of room to work on except under the dash where the battery will probably have to live along with the gas tank (thinking of building a custom tank) and all the wiring. I may go ahead and do a pulley swap 'cause I think I have all the stuff I need but will have to bolt everything instead of weld for the time being. We had a heat index of 107 deg here yesterday so that makes it a bit tough. I think I may have finally found a hobby I can afford even though putting the motor together has temporarily bankrupt me it was worth it driving it around the yard the first time! at about 3 miles an hour. My JD LA 115 with hydrostat is still faster! And yes, big fan of Fearlessfront he is the You tube Rockstar of mower builders, not to take anything away from Doc Sprocket and all the others that have inspired me to do this. Thanks to all of you, and thanks for responding!
