| thats what i meant by dual clutch/brake if you are going to the bother of moving it would it not be worth leaving the existing pedal in place, connecting it to the brake only, and then making your new pedal actuate the clutch? it would be only a small amount of work extra given the work you would already have to do, but you would have a degree more control over the finished machine, especially if you choose to make it go faster p.s. was in touch with the guy who organises the lawnmower racing over here, he says 19th April will be the first race of the year all being well! | |

| re-read that, you want a foot throttle where the brake is . but did you ever think of a hand throttle? i have a bmx lever on my racers steering wheel, i means you have better control of the throttle when you are getting bounced around on the bumpy stuff? | |

| Frame looks bare. Floorboards arent separate? I wouldve thought they were. Looking good by all means though. Im yet to start my build, need to finish the pulley swap on my craftsman, so i can get it out of the way lol. | |

| @Jon, I'm going to keep them combined, at least for now. The way that i am going to move the pedal is relatively simple. I am just going to make a bit and of steel that mimicks the bottom half of the clutch pedal. Then make a bracket at the left side of the mower and run the rod and clutch pedal setup to it. It will be clearer ( hopefully) when I get it fabbed up and show some pics of it. Here's the clutch/brake/rod assembly that I am going to use. It's from a 1998 Rally 12hp (my first mower) @Rockinator, no the foot plates are welded onto the frame. Beginning to work out how to post pics on this phone. Takes a lot of time to do it though. Here is the front axle that I'll probably be modding to fit. I have a spare Westwood axle beam laying around and the new front axle is about one inch shorter. Edit... Made a wee drawing so that you could see what I mean

| Thanks. It was off a Tecumseh 3.5hp out of a push mower. I hope it's big enough, I dont Could you post some pics of that 8hp? Would be nice to see. Engine and tank will probably end up being matt white. | |

| Yeah hopefully the tank should be fit for it. Not as big as yours Mr. Modified Frame should be in primer this weekend. Got the whole week off this week so hopefully will get a fair wee bit done. | |

| Yeah haha its brave heavy stuff. I got the top side of the frame done with undercoat. Front rims are now fully primed and will likely get their coat of matt black today or the morrow. Engine also got a coat of matt black. Been slowly working on the clutch and front axle/steering this weekend. I got all the rest of the brackets cut off the clutch arm and got the clutch pedal and assembly out of the frame. Now just need to do some drilling, cutting and welding to make it work. And for the front axle I am now going to use a Westwood one. Just gotta fab up a steering arm, some spacers for the top of the spindles and the linkage that runs from the two spindles to connect them. Will get pics up soon | |

| Pics of this weekends progress... Paint for engine block, shroud and rims. Frame rubbed down. Stuff I used to strip back the paint and rust. Undercoat. Frame has been flipped over since this pic and the underside done and the block has been painted. Will get a pic of it today sometime. Still waiting on the frame, the rims and the shroud to dry. It's so cold!! Also when I was taking the clutch off, I managed to break the clutch spring. And for today I hope to get the rims sprayed black (if they've dried) and get the front axle finished and primed and also some work on the clutch. And maybe some engine work for too. | |

| Haha things are different over the pond. Thanks, seems like I'm making fairly good progress atm, but when it comes to some serious fab work, things might slow dune a bit. It's 3:58 here, looks like we just got some snow. Hopefully I'll get the garage all tidied up and get thimgs a wee bit more organised. | |

| Sprayed or played? Anyway, i would think it could be the cause of temperature if you are painting in a not heated area or outside, or old paint, or just a no name brand cheapo paint. Most likely the first one because paint just doesnt shrivel up lol,if you haven't already try getting a room to paint in, makes a HUGE difference. Especially if its heated. Other than that i dont know why the paint would wrinkle. | |

| Anyway, here's the underside of the frame done. Shroud is gonna get a coat of white paint tomorrow hopefully. And here's the block painted. Sorry for the dark pic, I'll get a better one tomorrow. Pity about the rims tbh. Now it's back to square one | |
