10 hp diesel in a truck?

i have a old mid 70 doge 4x4 truck that has a crap motor. i was thinkin just for fun putting a  10 hp diesel in it. Will It Work?

It sound like a kind of redneck plan and I like it. All depend on what you whant to do with it I dont thing that will be enough to go on road. Do yo talk abouth a fullsize pickup or something smaller

You would need some searious gear reduction probably. 10hp isnt a lot of power.

seen a guy on youtube with a 6.5 HF engine in a toyota... pretty funny.

its a full size 1/2ton 4/4. DO you have a link to that 6.5 HF engine in a toyota?

i was thinkin about using it as crawler/tractor/... so i dont need to go hwy speed

if i do this i will eventually Chop the axles,frame and drive shaft. similar to the old model T doodlebugs

Do it! I would install a 10" pulley on the trans in place of the clutch, and run a 4" pulley on the motor and run a belt between them to clutch and gear it down a bit.

Ok now I say it might work and more if you whant to make a tractor from it (that will result on a weight reduction). But as my 4wheeling experience even on low gear you probably get some point were you wont have enough power. Other than that I like your project and I probably try it as future thing do try
