I've got an early 90's Coast to Coast (MTD) that has noticeable toe out in the front. The tie rod between the spindles is fixed meaning no adjusters. The wheels are pretty loose on the spindes but even if I pull the fronts in the toe out is noticeable. Do I just cut and lengthen the tie rod or is there something else I should be looking at?

Cutting and bracing it while your at it would help out. Or you can make your own rod with adjustable ends if you're ambishous enough.

Any slop in the rod ends, wheel bushings or bearings, and spindle bushings or bearings can contribute to the effect. Any chance the tie rod is bent or tweaked? How about the steering arms? On MULE, I must get around to reinforcing the steering arms. Every now and then, I bend them a bit and it has a noticeable effect on the toe angle.
