Hey guys.

Well myHH120 is still defunct. But, I have new symptoms! I've pulled the motor out of the tractor, and I've been trying to pull start it. And it will give a big kick, like valve timing. Is there a way to visually check it by taking the head off? I took the head off, and it appears to be opening and closing at the correct times. Also, it's leaking oil quite a bit from the main crankcase gasket, as if maybe it's been opened before, and the "opener" ripped it?

Also, this is what I mean when I say the piston is deformed and scorched:

The head also looks like this.
Any idea why?

Thanks,
BM88

Crap that's not what I wanted to hear.

I can't take the muffler off, it's modified, and welded in.

Do you know how this would affect the motor's performance?

Its not sucking in as much gas and air, and when t burns it doesn't get rid of it as much. compression test?

It's got 100psi of compression, and plenty of vacuum (I had a rag stuck in the carb, and it accidentally sucked it right up!).
