| That's... what I thought. That is a product designed for piston-ported two-strokes. Reed-valve, and rotary-valve 2-strokes, and all 4-stroke engines have valves that prevent the backwash that the product supposedly cures. So- while it looks cool, it's not actually doing anything for your mower engine...
To be honest, I'm not convinced the bottle even does anything on a piston-ported 2-stroke for which it is designed. Any "backwash" that may occur, will take the path of least resistance (as proven by simple, common physics). With a choice between a narrow tube and a bottle that may or may not be vented atmosperically, and a nice big carburetor venturi, it's not hard to imagine it shooting right out the carb every time. | |

| Yeah actually after reading that again I'm questioning my placement on the motor lol. Spur of the moment decisions aren't always the best.
Edit: after putting the rtv on the gasket and changing out the manifold it's still not letting me give it gas without bogging out. What else could it be.

| Okay- I didn't actually do anything to a TRACTOR... I recently acquired another Peerless 700. I tore out down completely, and spend several hours scrubbing all that evil Bentonite off all the almost 50 parts involved. With everything clean, I inspected all the internals. For a used unit bought unseen, not bad. The shift keys had a bit of corner damage, so I replaced them. The keys are still good spares, though. I have to order a new oil seal for the pinion shaft, as I will be filling this with 90W gear oil. Other than that, it's good to go! Aside from a few hard shifts that slightly chewed the keys, I think this does not have a lot of miles on it. Bushing and bearing wear is minimal, and there's no notable gear wear at all. Nice! | |

| Was not today, but... Stretch and I prepped for the tractor race/party coming up Saturday! Of course we had to do plenty of testing of the courses. | |

| Havent done anything today - its only now 7am but in recent days war machine mk1 got some new wheels front and rear, along with new (to me) tires, some LED glow lights under the hood (yet to be wired in) and very soon another front pulley upgrade is in order. Today I am setting up "the command center" - my old camp trailer being turned into a mini mobile shop for the builds, a place to make plans, small parts mods, and even paint some parts when needed (it is surprisingly well ventilated for such an old trailer) |

| Thanks. Today, I tore open the transaxle (920) and replaced the pinion shaft bearings. Then, I replaced both clutch pulleys, because those bearings were bad too. It was pretty loud when you let the clutch out. All quiet now. Except the Cherry Bomb muffler... LOL | |

| Today, I was working on MULE's controls. I separated the throttle and choke mechanisms. Now, the factory dashboard throttle/choke combo control opens and closes the choke only. I grabbed a brake pedal I had pulled off a 1989 Yamaha XV250 Virago parts bike I bought awhile back, and mounted the pedal assembly to the right side frame above the footboard. I ran a cable from there to the to factory throttle/governor control. I ran out of daylight before I could finish. I have to come up with a cable stop to attach the cable to the block, and locate and mount a return spring to pull the throttle back to idle when you get off the pedal, then adjust everything. Will update my thread when it's done. | |

| I was running my tractor today and for no reason I decided to check the oil, good thing I did, it was completely dry so I was lucky enough to happen to have a spare quart on me... | |

| Finished setting up my gas pedal (works great!) and then proceeded to deep-six the factory console shift and instead set up the PTO engagement lever as a gearshift. Much better! | |
