| I was riding my mower and it was in 4th gear and all of a sudden it locked up. So I put it in third and worked fine along with 1st and 2nd so then I tried 4th again and it more like 5 feet then locked up again. And ever since then it's only moving in reverse no matter what gear does anyone know what happened? | |

| Well you need to take the tranny out and tear the tranny apart then you will know whats wrong. Lots of work but worth it. I had problems with my foote 3 speed tranny also but took it apart and cleaned it all and it works fine. | |

| Sounds like something seized up. Only way to tell is tear it down...
Does shifter still move, and all gears are reverse?

| Ok so I just took it apart and all I found was that one tooth was broken off in 4th gear I pulled the piece out but should I be worried about it? Also it seems to all Work just fine now | |

| the piece of tooth was probably wedged in the gears. If you got the piece out, it should work ok. | |

| id think you'd still have 4th, but there would be 'slack' when it gets to the broken tooth | |
