It's a non pressure lube and I beat the piss out of her so I don't want to risk frying the top rod. Sometimes I will even run a very lean mixture of 2 stroke oil in the gas just to keep the bore happy. That and it just smell good. I know, I'm crazy haha.
I burn my old 2T race fuel in my tractor after it gets too old to trust in my bikes. Smells great! I wouldn't worry much about frying the top end in any of these machines as long as they're not built to run insane compression ratios.

Yea a friend of mine does the same. And it's not so much that I think I am going to fry the top end. It just gives me an excuse to romp on it that much harder

| Just a reminder if you have an old engine, and run full synth oil. It will ruin your gaskets and seals. (if you get strange oil leaks) - Old meaning before 80's i think. After that they started using Nitrile seals and gaskets. | |

| Probably the most important thing is to make sure you have SOME kinda oil in it. I've seen an awful lot of motors lost because some dummy just ran the thing till it was dry, then ran it some more.... Till it stopped. In the south here I use cheap dollar store 30 wt... I've never had a problem. Wintertime in Montana I ran atf... temps often dipped into the -60F range, and even atf sometimes needed some heat to loosen up. A hair dryer set blowing on the block for a few minutes would usually thaw the atf enough to turn the motor over. I CAN tell you that at -70 to -92 degrees F you are not gonna move. | |
