| I think you should make a shack then, just make shure its outta your face haha. I was thinking that if you took a heavy metal screen like thick chicken wire and weld it inside the pipe, you could make it a lot quitter, reduce loud cracks of backfires, and regain back pressure for performance. | |

| Running the pipe parallel along the side of the frame and then having it exit out high in the back would work great if you dont want a stack. As for muffler just check and see what Lowes/ Home Depot/ Hardware store/ Small engine shop has and fit it to your pipe. For what its worth- "back pressure" is a horribly misunderstood topic. Back pressure is bad. Period. Many people confuse back pressure with cylinder scavenging, which refers to the previous exhaust wave helping draw out the next wave. Back pressure refers to a restrictive condition and is never desirable. Try running to the store while breathing through a straw. Now kink the straw and try to run home. Make sure you have 911 programmed into your speed dial. On a 2 stroke, back pressure is also bad. The confusion there is caused by the tuned pipe. A tuned pipe does NOT create back pressure. It does do three things. It assists in cylinder scavenging, it assists in getting a full charge into the chamber for the next cycle, and it times a small reverse pulse back to the exhaust port so that the exhaust scavenging does not draw the fresh charge right out the exhaust. The reason some people may think that back pressure is a good thing, is based on scavenging. A pipe that is too big or too short will not assist in scavenging, leading you to belive that a longer or smaller pipe's "back pressure" is helping. Not so. | |

Its bad to have no muffler (like you said scavenging) and valve warp. But you still want the engine to exert the exhaust. so, im not shure what he wants as far as a muffler so water can get in, but I still think a stack or thunders idea is the best. | |
