| Any plans to even out the stance? Probably more work than its worth with the jackshaft and whatnot. Those coil buckets are pretty slick. | |

| Yep, its offical. Going to PA with mr.modified and doug fackler. Been busting my ASS this week shoulda gave myself more time. Started with finding out one of my bearings was bad. So i went to TSC and got two new ones, i love 1" spindles lol. Completely stripped down, and then parts were paints. Lots of parts. Chassis being painted, i cleaned up the wiring really good, so no more twisted and unnecessarily long wires. Please give a moment of silence for the flag as been lowered. Going back together, rear end all in with skid plate. when i mocked up the tranny mounts i guess i stripped two of the 4 front mounting holes for the 820. they have been drilled and tapped to 3/8-16 with lock washers on all 4. 21HP 46ci has landed for the first time! Throttle setup for no gov too, if one spring was to fail the other still works. Very snappy and she runs crazy good. Winch painted. Very happy. she looks so badass. Duplicolor stainless steel paint. needs to be re done, i got stripes on the hood but thats easy. Doug says its like the rock bouncer edition of stretches silver bullet. Need to finish my home made pull start, and need new oil and battery, this things got more compression and i think my batterys about done. | |

| The PA trip romp! https://www.atltf.com/t4579-redlinemotorspotts-doug-fackler-and-mr-modifieds-rompin-pa-meetJust a pre trip shot. I had no clue how the new engine was going to start or run so i made a home made pull start right before i left. Little bit of damage. We were messing around on top of a little hill (seen second to last clip on my PA video where doug climbs it) and i was sitting right on top of the hill, doug climbed it and his tractor jumped left, twards mine. His bumper smacked into the fender. It scuffed the paint and no dent, but actually pushed my entire rear corner of the fender down touching the tire. He bent it back up but you can see the wave in the rear of the fender still. Big problem i had was my left rear tire went flat every 30 minutes. What a pain. So i took my bycycle pump, strapped to to the back bumper to have onboard air. Major headache but it worked pretty good. I think i slipped the bead on one of the hills on the last day, now when you put air in you can hear a high pitch squeel, it comes out pretty quick. Engine has a real bad tick when it gets hot too. On Saturday i assumed it was a rod knock. We propped mine on its side and took the inspection cover off the back of the engine, rods were tight, no metal shavings, oil was pretty thin (still warm), cam that i could see was goo, no wrist pin play, cyl walls looked good. Ive been talking to prancstaman on youtube a lot and we think that i have excessive valve clearance. if thats the case when i measure the clearance, that means the engines coming back off again. Running 10w-40 too. Ran pretty rich and one of my plugs went cold and engine had no power, but i had a spare in the toolbox so i changed it out on the trail. Ill have to see why its doing that. | |

Eh. She ran for like 10 hours total last weekend and got pretty hot so i think its fine. changed the plug out when it was really hot and started right up.

| MTD gets shipped to my camp and out of my hair for summer! The night before I left i swapped the engines. Tired of the 21 being so shotty after different carbs, flooding the oil twice, hard starting and running. Put old smoky 16.5 back on with the original carb that always worked perfect and it works just fine. Took 3 hours almost exactly to swap engines, set up throttle, swap carbs and intakes, put pulley and electrical junk back on. Thanks to Mr. Mod coming up to his camp also, we worked out a deal with a 3rd party and managed to get the tires to my place. His camp and my camp are relatively close. They are brand new basically, and on rims. 23x8.5-12 Just bolted my existing 4x4 hubs i drilled back to 5 lug because thats what they used to be. 1 Holy sh*t do these thing pull in muck. Skidplate deep and still going. They like to dig to china quick!! Skid plates work lol. Front is getting bent but expected because its only sheet metal. I can just hammer it back if its a issue. Deepest ive ever went, once the sparkplug gets a good amount of water on it, it'll start sputtering but the other cyl keeps it running till it gets out of the deep part. She doesnt float at all, i bet the scorpians would have me starting to come off the ground. Scorpians are still better on rocks. These things are so nasty they just grab the rock and unroot it, throw it down hill and really move dirt around. I need to tube the scorpians and find hubs just for them so i can easily swap them out. My driveline brakes are just not working out. They were pretty touchy, hard to lightly apply them. The caliper rides on the rotor all the time due to gravity, so the pads have already fully worn out. i fully adjusted them and they are toast. Another thing is that they are super noisy. louder than my engine most of the time. Time to make a small disk or drum setup where the old one was. But really, i was up there the hole week and rode it every day and beat this thing real real hard. Most ive ever had, harder than lopez trip. And nothing, not one thing on this thing broke. With all the accessories on this thing, and everything going on (not really a super simple machine) Im surprised it took it so well, but happy, that shows something. Some moments when i smack a tree, rock, spin tires and catch something hard and you cringe from what just happens (you know what i mean if you've done it) and not have it break makes me happy from what ive made. Journey is basically over from what i see. Small changes but it really does what ive always want it to do. Conquer, reliable, fun and strong. | |

| So your saying the 21hp opposed is ready to have dual carbs installed and go on the GTR project? Or maybe not, that lower cylinder being all scored up from running with half the tin work gone in pa...
Good that the rear tires worked out, I figured they ought to be aggressive enough. Weird about the brake though, I never would have thought the pads would wear out that fast. You wouldn't think the weight of the caliper on there would do it.

| You got some nice pics there of the trip. I like the one with the bolder. Sorry you didn't figure out the problem with the motor. I got a set of those tires on a set of 8 inch rims. Just don't know what to do with them yet. | |

| Yep its quite the transformation. Its turned into a 4 wheeler to me really, just hop on and go, accept i dont really care to much about if anything breaks. these tires have a lot more tread than a carsile super lug tire would i think. | |

| Did you check the heads on the 46CI when you took the engine back off? I was wondering if you could see any black spots or anything that looked like a leak. Decent amount of run time in pa with a few hot and cold cycles. I was thinking of doing it on the gtr engine. | |

Like head gasket leak? No. I'm not doing the head gasket thing again because it's so hard to turn the engine over.

| Looks sweet man, I wish I could have had more time to work on mine this past year. I had the senior project and then I was working on my truck for a few months and now work has me occupied 4 days a week and on top of all that I'm moving lol. Hopefully when I get moved I will be as to start messing with it some more. I think I'll try and find some tires like those I always liked my little ags. What do you think about running two belts for the driveline? Like same route and everything just one right able the other and have every pulley have one right under it so it has double the friction, idk if it's worth it but I have to make total belt system and was wondering what u thought about it | |

It might be cool and will get double the traction probably, some equipment runs on multiple belts. Might be double trouble though. - LAWN MOWER MUDDER wrote:

Thanks, yea she looks good. Still havnt seen it since ive been up to my camp last month. I was thinking of taking the rear end out, opening it or just out atf oil in. Need to make the tires not slip the bead, that should be easy. Needs new brakes too. would be easy but its not at my house to build any.

| Hey everything just fits well on your mower especially the new ags on the back. Ive been super busy so haven't had building/wheeling time lately (daughter was born 4-14-15). But have idea of new mower with a 19hp oppy, same front suspension as ours and rear suspension similar to how a mowing deck can move and float. Intent of handling like a trophy truck/ultra4 car. I day dream a lot. | |

| Congrats man! Good news. Yea I think it would be cool to have rear suspension long arm and ifs long travel on one of these for quad like handling. I'd be worried about the sag when you sit on the back tho so it would take just the right shocks and spring rate with the right positioning for that. Don't think I'm messing with mowers anytime soon. School starts the 26th | |
