alright guys so i have a craftsman dlt3000. the only mods i have done are a bumper and big mud tires. it has a 6 speed tranny and a 18.5 briggs Smile i want to change the pulleys so it will run around 15 to 20. i only wanna change the tranny pulley though. any ideas on what size i should get for the tranny pulley? thanks, Brandon

1:1 is a good ratio, only thing is dont go smaller then 3" trans pulley - the belt wont have enough wrap around it to spin it correctly.

Thats the problem i have on my lawn tractor, the belt will just slip, at first i thought the belt was loose but then you can see the belt slipping on the pulley.

im not sure what the pulley sizes are now. they're stock, thats all i know. im gonna take a guess and say the fronts a 4 and the rear is a 10ish? i just wanna go about 15 mps thats all

If you want around 15mph a 1:1 is the way to go.

alrighty thanks Smile is there any equation to find out what belt size i use or just use a rope around where the belt would run? oh anyone know what size the output shaft on the tranny is?

Its hit or miss. I know most Peerless transaxles I have swapped ran 5/8, while MTD FNR transaxles used 1/2" bore.

You could try this, CornishMorgan sent me it although I havent used it yet. http://www.baumhydraulics.com/calculators/belt_length.htm

A rope would work too. FearlessFront has a tutorial on how to do it.
