| I would like to say that it is nice to see there is a community of people out there that have the same passion that I do about lawn tractors. I have been looking to get a project started for the last few years and have finally found the right lawn mower which was free. It is an older Murray with a 16h B&S and a 2348 transaxle, it does have a 42 inch mower deck that is not attached along with a snow blower. The reason that I picked this site is because of how many members have customized their lawnmowers and the wealth of knowledge they may be able to provide me.
Some of the things that I will be doing to my Murray include going to bigger tires, 4 inches of lift to accommodate larger tires or clutch lever hits tires, pulley swap, custom bumper, custom glass pack exhaust, utility rack, custom gas peddle which will require moving the brake peddle and a few other things I am sure that I am forgetting. I will take pictures as I go.

| Welcome MurryMaddnes, seems like you have a great mower for a base with a oppy and a 1" axle, you should start a topic on it! | |

| Hay everyone. My name is Jason and I'm from TN. If it wasn't for fearlessfront I probably wouldn't be here. I'm more into trail, woods riding, and a little rock crawling, but I do more burning the tires than crawling rocks. | |

| Hay, thanks for telling me a youtube channel I haven't found yet. I always try to find the channels that do the same as me. I have a creek I have to winch the craftsman down into to hit some rocks. Some are taller than the front tires so I have to burn the tires to get traction. I ran a 3.5:4 pulley setup the last time I was down there. I now have a 3.5:3 setup. Just can't wait for it to dry some more to see how the new setup goes. | |

| Well I guess That I am a bit late, but I am Zach from Washington State. I have been dunking with garden tractors alongside my grandpa since I was five. I love ford, and Minneapolis moline tractors. I currently have 4 lawn tractors, 3 craftsmans, and my Dynamark pulling mower. | |

| I have been on this forum for about a year now, and only two members know my name (till now). I am Jason from washington state, about 35 min from Zach. I live in Zendervill as the locals call it, from the family that has been here since the 1800's. anyway, I own 1 craftsman, 2 murray widebodys, one "turfmaster" murray aws with murray's shift on the go which uses a 6 speed manual peerless and which clutches when you move the shifter (same frame as Zach's dynamark). 3 mtds, one with a 5 speed in place of the fnr and varidrive, the rest are in pieces. a simplicity wonderboy 700, a 700, and a landlord. I also own a simplicity 6211 with a 20hp opposed twin and bearclaws. and 1 motgomery ward 8 4 speed with a 17hp tecumseh that won't start unless it is 50 degrees out or warmer (starter an't strong enough)

| Subject: Hello from Maryland January 30th 2015, 7:19 pm | |
| Greetings, I've been lurking in the shadows for a while and finally decided to join when I saw the 2015 Build-off. I am 15 but I am not new to tractors. I live on a 6 acre horse farm so I have quite a bit of space to ride around. My family (and I) own quite a few tractors but I am just getting started with racing them, and trail riding them so that's another reason why I joined. I own a 1967 Massey Ferguson MF-10 which I will be making into a snow removal rig for winter time and a mudding and trail riding mower for summer time. I also have a 1977 Cub Cadet 1000 and a 1976 John Deere 300 but those two are apart for repairs and restorations. We also have a Craftsman LT1000 which is my moms which I want to turn into a racing mower also. All other tractors are either hydro or out of my reach (figuratively) for mods. Well, that's just a Little bit about me, looks like I will enjoy my permanent stay here. ~Mason~ | |

| Guess I'm the new guy now. I live just west of Gettysburg Pa. 40 years old and I started working on mowers at 7. Back then it was only wheelhorse now it's whatever there is around. Only thing I currently have is a cub to mess with. While looking for ideas on the net found docs videos wnd thst led me here. Glad to see I'm not the only one with a very limited budget that enjoys mowers. | |

| Hello all! I'm sure like a lot of you my first powered vehicle was a lawnmower and like you I always dreamed of taking it out of the yard and off into the dirt! I fantasied about turning dad's lawnmower into a rock crawler almost 50 years ago. I'm not too surprised to find out I'm not the only one.
I actually found this forum while searching for info about using a lawn tractor differential-gearbox in another homebuilt vehicle. About the same time I was dreaming about dad's lawnmower small amphibious ATVs hit the market. I couldn't afford one but I dreamed about building one. Now I'm going to do it using lawn tractor and motorcycle parts. I'm not as interested in mods to mowers but in stealing parts from them. The key part is that compact box that serves as differential, transmission, clutch, and brake.
Does anyone else here build machines from the ground up using tractor parts?

I'm in Montgomery Co. so maybe if I build my amphib we'll meet at Lake Redman and try it out!

Does anyone else here build machines from the ground up using tractor parts? Welcome! Start up a thread maybe with more details on your ideas. Although in your other old thread post it seemed like we didnt want to hear or talk about it, we just dont want old threads brought up. We would all much rather have a new thread with clean slate so current members can talk about your ideas then having your idea on another persons older thread.
