| hi all. got two mowers last week. a toro groumdmaster and a 11 hp yard king that i am going to mod. they are both in pretty rough shape but i think 175 for two mowers isnt to bad of a deal. the groundmaster is going to be mowing. i am going to fix it al up. now for the yard king. this is a modding forum after all the 11 horse had a stuck valve. got it running but threw a 18hp twin on there. got the diff locked. next thing to do is taking it all aprt and building it from ground up. doing a pulley swam, direct steering and everthing. here are some pics of the toro groundmaster. had to pull it with the bolens. the seet is in perfect condition. the mower isnt | |

| Finding onan motor parts is a pain and expensive - if it runs- thats good- if it needs work, then might make more sense to swap a briggs or other twin on it - i have a 20HP horizontal twin onan in my shed - which doesnt run ( had it quite a few years now) - too bad too , like to put it on my wizard tractor project. | |

The onan runs. Cleaned it, adjusted the points and stuff. Still had no spark. Turns out somebody had rewired the whole mower, not using a solenoid. Once i connected 12 v to some cut wires on the engine i got spark. Engine runs great but wiring needs to be redone. Try to set the points on your engine. Once you got that, it's going to be alot easyer to get it running.

| I like the groundmaster, we use similar ones to cut our lawn(the engines over the back wheel and there is only one wheel for steering). I prefer them over normal lawn tractors and I like the wheel in the back because you can go around corners almost on a dime. Put some big tires on it make it a mudding mower:P jk you can probably make a fair bit of money off of it if you do a tune up and get it ready for lawn cutting and a coat of paint. | |

| Mine is a late 90's - dosent have points. Im thinking the coil pack is bad - ive herd about using a twin cylender motorcycle coil as a replacement possibly - PO goofed the wiring up and stuff good also and the starter motor needs to be jumped across terminals ( had intregal solenoid).
Just havent had time to tinker with it either.
