| Good cabinet blasters are one of the greatest things in the shop.
Even a cheapo chinese benchtop unit is very handy, provided you have the air compressor capacity, and can do the mods.

And even a cardboard box with some gloves in will save you. Luckily we have a screw compressor at work delivering shitloads of air.

Luckily we have a screw compressor at work delivering shitloads of air. Sure, you guys get screw compressors... I spent 23 years ina shop running a 40 horespower electric Gardener and Denver Single stage. One piston 8" bore, 600 pounds of flywheel, built in 1952. It could power two big cabinet blasters, and a dozen air tools at a time. All at 100 psi, and it never croaked when the 1" drive impacts where running either. Once in awhile, it would load up on oil, and start banging, sounded like it was coming through then wall, but I managed to keep it running for 18 years after the experts said it was "Un-Rebuildable." Sorry to hi jack the thread. The Keyboard has been drinking

Haha old school is old school, this wouldn't run one hour without its annual 10 hour service so. But little trouble with otherwise, and we use air a lot, and other jobs / machines will stop if the air fails so they invested in a proper screw compressor. And WTS how long did that piece take you to blast?

I heard there was some major complications so he isn't going. That is correct, my original rides vehicle is having problems and my backup is busy.

| Its pretty easy to make a sandblasting booth.. Takes a tote, a 12x18in piece of plexi glass. Some old long t shirts or jeans, Jeans preferred, some hole-less welding gloves, and a box cutter, some super glue and self tappers all get the job done. Its really easy.
Cut a hole in the lid 10x16, position your plexiglass on top of the lid, put a solid bead of glue around the lid where the glass will sit. (you can run some gasket sealer around it to keep it all inside)
Then cut some holes for your arms in a comfortable position and glue the denim around the edges. But first, make some sleeves off of your gloves with the jeans, you can glue or sew them together. Then glue your sleeves in like i said above, then makes some small holes for your hose. (make your hole is smaller than the hose so it doesn't leak lot of sand.
THEN if you want to go above and beyond. Get gasket maker and make a gasket on the top where the lid connects.. Let everything dry up and whoopow! You have yourself a sandblasting cabinet.. just dont sandblast the sides..
