I like that body design more and more, its so unique. The way it splits in half is pretty cool.

Yup, that's why the oil was colored too. It's ok though, I'm doing a complete rebuild with brand new parts. Well, not brand new. But newer.

I take that back, those are nowhere near the correct size. So it seems that because of the odd size (22x12-Cool these

Would be my cheapest option. Or switch to a more common rim size

MORE PROGRESS!

Finally brought home the air hammer, makes everything easier.

Project Big Cat - Page 2 Wp_20110

Got that pesky steering wheel off so I could remove the central tower.

Project Big Cat - Page 2 Wp_20111

Now, moving on to the transaxle.

Getting the old crappy hubs off.

Project Big Cat - Page 2 Wp_20112

Project Big Cat - Page 2 Wp_20113

New hubs! 4 Bolt so i can put on a more common ATV rim size.

Project Big Cat - Page 2 Wp_20114

Took off the shifter.

Project Big Cat - Page 2 Wp_20115

Project Big Cat - Page 2 Wp_20116

Drained the oil.

Project Big Cat - Page 2 Wp_20117

Now for taking it apart. This took awhile considering it's over 40 years old.

Project Big Cat - Page 2 Wp_20118

Project Big Cat - Page 2 Wp_20119

Taking the diff with me to school on Tuesday and welding it up during passing time.

I took the 3 speed hi/low out of my GTII - that was one heavy mother of a trans. Even with the wheels on to bolt it back it was a serious handful. I know for the hi /low trans they say to use 10w30 motor oil , for me i used straight lucas oil , since its hot down here.

Got the diff welded, piled it on high and made it go as deep as the machine could. Not pretty but it will hold.

Finally picked out a set of rims. Decided to go with a simple look to match the rest of the tractor. That and these are some of the cheapest rims I can get to fit these monster tires.
