im getting some 7x12 rims and wondering if 26x9x12 tires will fit

They should, the tires would be 26" tall, 9" wide, and fit on a 12" rim.

yeah the tire will just have to be squeezed in another 2 inches which is no big deal

Yeah probably make it a 27 because i think for every inch you make it skinnier it might make it a half inch taller. so 2 inches skinnier makes it 1 inch bigger. Thats how i see it working. If it was a wider rim then it would make the tire smaller
