| there used to spread the weight out more in tractors so they dont mess up the grown after planting and used in trucks to evenly distribute the weight for safety and allows more weight to be pulled

I would put a pillow block bearing on your axle to support the majority of the weight because the Transaxle casing will really take a beating, I was thinking of doing it, Its only worth it if you have the spare tires to fit on. But the Reason I thought of doing it was because I would have a harder time getting stuck into ruts

get a bearing that will fit onto the axle then slide it close to the Tires then fab up a frame that will attach to your original frame, do that on both sides.

do you know anyone with a welder willing to let you use it or have them weld it up for them? I would do it of you lived a little closer:P(Shipping over the boarder is the expensive part). you could try buying some 1X2X1/8th wall square tubing then drilling holes and bolting it together that way

| Duallys are good if youre pulling or dont want to rip up turf as, like someone else said, they distribute weight more evenly. They also help with stability because you are widening the wheelbase technically. You will have problems getting stuck in mud because of the weight distribution, but you might have issues getting around stuff in the woods/ creek/ mudhole because of your width. Youll also have more resistance if you go through water.
A tandem axle is good too because youll have more traction on the rear end. It will help with stability a little bit. Youll be thinner to fit around stuff, but the added length could impair your turning radius. Its a lot more fabrication work beacaue you have to link up everything to both axles and extend the frame. You also wont really be able to lock up the axles because of the turning thing like I said earlier, all the tires will want to spin different speeds so turning will again be impaired.
Either way, your steering is screwed. Unless youre going to be pulling, I would say stay with a single axle with a single tire on each side. If you want better traction, get some better tires or even chains.
