Making a GO-Kart Empty
PostSubject: Making a GO-Kart   Making a GO-Kart Icon_minitimeMay 11th 2010, 11:53 am

i have been thinking about this alot recently as because i have not got another mower and the prospect of getting one very little chance, well i thought about making a go kart simply cause i want to go FAST and have fun!

i thought about this for a while and just swaping the engine from my mower in to it and making a wooden cart.
heres a little thing i found on the net about this...
http://www.kartbuilding.net/Lawnmower_Powered_Wooden_Go-Kart_Plans/JPG-Plans-Metric/Drawing-17_Engine-Mounting-2.jpg

and then came the awesome plans from dons diy den and changed this completely by showing this awesome buggy!

(its the dirt devil)

well what do you guys think should i make a wooden go kart or buy them plans and build a metal one at my uncles, steel isnt very expensive to me as i can get local scarps from the shipyard and the only problem with the kart would be i would have to buy an engine and also make it at my uncles as i dont have a welder yet.... cyclops Twisted Evil (check the topic called "i really need a welder")

what do you think?!

I think the plans would be a better bet. Wood wouldnt be as good I dont think. I like that DIY ATV on that plan site too! Its awesome.
Where you looking at the Dirt Devil plans? I think building something with suspenion and a bit of ground clearance would make it much more enjoyable, means you're not just limited to flat ground!

Go with steel- first bit of hot dogging with the wood one and youll wind up sitting on the ground with just the steering wheel in your hands......
