G' day i just made an account for the fourm and i needed some help on my bolens. i love the thing but i don't want to put any money into it. i got it when my grandfather passed away and it sat in my woods for a year or two. my mom wanted the garden tilled and the old gal has a attachment but i went to start it and the only thing i did was put the jumper pack on it and started, no problem. just when i took the choke off the tractor just reved up and i dident move the throttle cable. all it dose is rev up. im thinking the Governor is screwed up but i don't know. i would like to get some help, this tractor means a lot to me and i cant afford to put a new or used engine into it. iv included a little video of it (cold start too! )

check to see if the float needle is leaking. if the bowl floods, sometimes they will rev up. could be the governor or throttle plate sticking too. I have seen the screws come out of the plate and do the same thing

iv checked the float and it would float in water but i haven't check if the needle was working properly
with the air cleaner off, look down the throat to see if gas is pooling or dripping (depending on carb arrangement) couldnt tell the motor make from the video, kinda looks like an onan but cant tell for sure. the throttle cable moves pretty easy for one the has been sitting in the woods for a few years. check to see if the cable is bending or slipping at the control handle.
