Hey y'all. I'm not a mudder, but I've got a lawn tractor that I'm building somewhat and this looks like a great place to get some info. 1985ish Craftsman GT18, engine currently in pieces and block is at the machine shop. Waiting on my rebuild kit. Thanks for having me!

Welcome to the ATLTF! I have about half of one of those! Lol. A friend and I split on it because he wanted the Peerless 2300 and I wanted the the rest for spare parts
Nice, I'm a little jealous because I love they way they look and how they are built! That's built by AYP, in the same era 3 other manufacturers made Craftsmans too, MTD, Murray and Roper. Just goes to show how popular the Craftsman name is
@Ifitaintbroke they're Definitely built like a tanks. Trying to get mine out of the back of my mom's lifted Ford was a booger it was so stove up my buddy I bought it from had to load it with a tractor with a front end loader (we however do not have one of those) So we basically had to kick it out of the truck downhill LOL, As @MightyRaze mentioned the 633a transaxles are pretty Hefty, Some smart people told me "you have one of best transaxles for our purposes that you can get!"

Wow, didn't even know what I had! I'm going to be using it as a small tractor. I currently have a sleeve hitch and disc harrow on it. Grass duty is done by a Husqvarna 24v48yth that I acquired for FREE.
