| ya that would be pretty cool, maybe when ever i get a mower that can go offroading i might head up there but that might not be awhile intel i have a offroader mower. cause the ones that i have right now aren't really setup for offroading/mudding well i could probably set up my red mower to go offroading/mudding but i don't think i want to use that for mudding/offroading cause it probably would get reck and that is kind of a nice mower that i have. but i've been looking for another cheap mower to modify to do some offroading etc. | |

| Hi everyone, first time poster. I'm Dave (southernkilowatt) and I'm from South East North Carolina. I have been lurking on your site for the last week or so and I have to say that this is a great site so far!
A little bit about me: I am 41, I live in the NC sandhills about 45 miles west of I-95 and I'm less than a mile from the Rockingham Racetrack (nascar). I have been an electrician now for the last 25 years and I currently work for a large bank on the east coast. I have a degree in "Industrial Maintenance Technologies" and a degree in "HVAC Technologies" and I currently do AC repair and service, carpentry, welding, electricial, plumbing, lighting and general maintenance and repair for the bank. I service 33 locations in 22 counties. I drive a company van loaded with tools and ladders and I spend most of my time on the road traveling from one location to the other.
Being from NC I guess you could say that I am a born and bred Redneck lol and I love making something work from nothing. I currently own a troy-bilt "big red horse" with a 23 hp, 50 inch cut. It is about 6 years old now and I am in the process replacing the drive belt for the transmission. I have had to tear it almost completley down just to replace a belt so I am not very happy with troy bilt right now lol.
There is a man not too far from here that does lawnmower repair and he has a 1 acre boneyard of old junk mowers and parts and I plan to build myself a mudder this winter. I have always wanted to build one, and your site has provided some much needed input and ideas. I especially like the idea of using a rear-end for the front for 4 wheel drive so thanks to the guy that mentioned that here. My plan is pretty simple, use 4 rear tires for height, an extended frame with at least a 20 hp motor and I may widen it to suit my needs.

| hey guys! im new to the site and known on youtube as 485yamaha, i have two tractors currently, an 86 noma canadiana 11hp briggs(of course), and an 85 sears craftsman 18hp briggs( my beater) i want to mod both for mudding and speed but for now i want to leave alone the 18hp.
i just opened up the engine on the 11 hp and it squeels loud when i start it, i think its the starter mechanism but im probably gettin a 19.5 from my buddy for it, im thinkin of puttin a 3 or 4 inch pulley on the rear and leavin the front alone, and i wanna put a gas pedal, but my clutch is on the right side -.- so i dont know how thats gonna work. just seeing if anyones got any pointers and tryin to introduce myself
