Anyone else running a 26MM mukuni clone on there OHV briggs singles? Taking my engine out to clean and regasket aswell as frame work, and figured now was the time. Curious if others are running similar setups to mine (model 28 briggs OHV) and how they like there muikuni slide knock off carburetor. Iv set the C-clip on the needle to pull as much fuel as possible for now. I plan on building a short intake pipe with a pod filter in the future

It's something I've been wanting to try and I have a few of those carbs kicking around including a genuine Mikuni, mostly 19mm but I need a 2 piece carb intake manifold or to make my own. Everything I've read has been a positive outcome aside from those who have troubles with tuning them which is understandable, with 3 possible adjustments it can be tricky until you get the hang of it.
I did a slide carb conversion some years back (I think it was early spring of 2017) on my 16hp ohv Briggs. I bought the carb years before to swap onto a old 250cc motorcycle and I can't recall the size of it but it did seem to size up perfectly. I went ahead and built an intake for my setup, I basically copied the factory one with only a few minor changes. Then I made a pvc intake tube that allows a pod filter to attach to it. I placed the filter under the gas tank up in the so called dash area so it was somewhat protected from mud. It ran surprisingly well right out of the box, I did however buy a jet kit to try and perfect it. I've got it close but since I don't ride it much and long enough anymore I'm happy with where it's at.

I put a 28mm on my model 31 ohv last year. Ran good for a while, but recently lost it's tune. I think my engine is just worn out to much, but it still has a ton of power!
