I do have a VTwin that I may upgrade Red in the future. I'm kind of sitting on that engine at the moment. My actual mower is starting to blow blue smoke now from time to time. Not bad for hours on hours of use for the past 16 years. Little single intek on my craftsman mower has been a trooper. I was hoping to get the suburban deck fixed so I could do an overhaul of the craftsman this spring, but it's going to have to wait.

Yes, the rear wheels are from gopowersports. I have now got the final new fronts on. I'll get a pic when I get the rears repainted and new tires on. I think you guys are going to like what I have going on!

The good news . . . Tires installed! The bad news . . . My drive pulley is bent. Bad enough that it would cause a vibration in the engine. I am revisiting the drive pulley for a later time.
Battery, has 12.4 volts but I do not think it has many amps. Its 6.5 yrs. old. Will need a new battery. The starter looked rough inside. May need a new one.
As you can see, I am going for a dual sport on this one!

So, the briggs breather square just ever so lightly rubbed the hood. Resolution... what I have wanted to do to one of these things for a while. Trim the bottom around the breather, and just use the top breather holder. Eliminate the top square.
I also got my hood latches on. Now, I need to nail down some tube/pipe to build up some exhaust. I have ideas, but I may need to up my skill to do so. We will see. Get some exhaust and I am ready to test ride this thing!
I also need to come up with a gas pedal. I'm leaning no dash throttle this time. Not 100% sold at this time on that idea.

Looking good man and I like the little belt guard you put on the right side! I have to ask though... where did the American Flag on the hood come from and how does it look like it's been there for decades!?
Really like the patina of this rig, it would be really awesome if you had a little Kubota diesel under the hood and a stack coming out the back rolling coal....

So, did some work today and got a header make and installed. That's about the only good thing that happened today.
Decided to fire it up and see if I could get a test drive today. Nope. My fear was realized today. My belt was too tight, and I could not get enough slack with the clutch when engaged. It flips down and reengages even more. Basically, my drive pulley is just too large. I'll need to go back to the 7". I can make my belt guide work. Luckily, I had a cool head on me when I couldn't stop the tractor today. I just shut it off before I hit our van. LOL
As you can see the tractor is on the back porch and not in the garage. To top things off, the gas tank leaks. I'll have to figure that out and probably reseal the inside with some tank sealer.
As with many projects, as I mentioned. Two steps forward and one step back. Gas tank removed and drained. Next week I'll put some tank sealer in it. Nothing big on the leaking, but was weaping around one seam and a couple bracket points.
In other news, I am going to try this chicken chow-mien tach/hour meter.
It said 5 or more winds. I went with 14.
