One of our 2nd Gen members, @CraftsmanQuad19. You see him around from time to time. He was at an automotive event on the @redzz02 Haspin Build Dynamark (2018 B/O 1st place). He just recently obtained the tractor post 2022 Top Tractor Challenge. I digress, while at the event he got nailed by a BMW.
As reported by Redzz02, most of the damage to the car was done by CQ's body! The tractor took a good beating too, obviously.
Long story short, he got pretty beat up by the wreck but appears to be doing good otherwise. I do not know any more details to the extent of his injuries, but he obviously took a bad beating. Seeing the video of the accident, I can say the BMW was moving pretty fast and things could have easily been worse.
Hope you have a fast road to recovery Cooper!

Thanks a lot for the kind words, guys. I really appreciate having all of you around me. Such a great group of friends!
I’m pretty banged up, but nothing too major. Very glad I had my helmet on. Easily could’ve had a very different outcome. Concussion, bruised lung, and a lot of road rash was all I suffered. I was knocked unconscious in the crash. Couldn’t remember anything before the crash other than a still image of the car coming at me at an angle, roughly 10 feet before impact. Couldn’t remember the impact itself, or landing. Was coming to as the paramedics were doing their preliminary checks and getting me on the stretcher. I figure I was going roughly 30 mph, and he was somewhere around 45 mph at the point of contact. From what I’ve heard, the other driver was acting very reckless all night.
As far as damage to the tractor goes, car hit somewhat T-bone style on the front right. Hood and grille are a total loss. Clutch pedal is mashed, oil filter housing was forced down and peeled the vanguard sump open (main part of the block LOOKS to be ok), engine roll cage is tweaked off to the right a tiny bit, engine mounting plate is bent a little, and the right front shock is in several pieces (cap, reservoir, body). The body is C shaped. Bent the rear axle shaft on the right hand side (presumably in the subsequent rollover), and flattened part of the steering wheel to the dash with lots of deep concrete rash. Clearly, the tractor bounced off the car and rolled…HARD.
I plan to rebuild the tractor in the coming weeks. I have a sump on hand, I’ll get the axle shaft measured and on the way, and I’m going to make the switch to AYP craftsman fenders. I think the square fenders will look good with the square dynamark hood and grille. I have one of those secured as well. The engine plate and roll cage will just have to be massaged with the BFH I suppose. I’m also considering putting on AYP craftsman floorboards with my signature C channel “boot grabbers” between the floorboards and fenders, swapping to a left foot clutch, and putting on handlebars off of a mini atv I have laying around. I have a handlebar mounted master cylinder for the hydraulic brakes and will allow me to keep the thumb throttle in a tidy and comfortable package. I feel like that will be the best route to take for overall comfort and control, but I’m not totally sold on the look. The low profile steering wheel it had before just looked so good, albeit at the cost of a little comfort. 100% driver preference. I may give the handlebars a try just because I have them, and they may stay. Or they may get pulled back off in favor of a traditional wheel.
But baby steps. I’ve got a lot of other things to fix first lol, including myself

Back in December 2014, post build off, I was in a pretty gnarly dirt bike head on accident and broke my femur pretty bad. Not too long after that was when I vanished from the forum for a while. Best thing to do is keep your head straight. And don’t f around during physical therapy lol. My leg still isn’t 100% and probably won’t ever be lol

Yeah some breaks can be gnarly. I had my thumb ripped half off in Afghanistan in '05
Plastic surgeon put all tendons together and it looks like nothing ever happened but I barely don't have feeling in it, just phantom pain and less power
