No return on that style? Also, the cap unobstructed? Does the seat push on the fuel line when back? Making a warp in the tank? Just throwing things as the wall to see if it sticks.
No return lines on these. Are you talking about the fuel cap? I'll check and see if the seat is hitting the fuel line, I dont think it is but if the seat adjustment nuts backed off then it might.

Any time I've been into the locking rings the upwards tangs had stops to well, stop from being able to turn the ring anymore, I can see one behind the fuel line and they are a bugger to get locked all the way I've never had one that didn't put up a fight and require several *explicit deletives* to get er done! Lol. I can see a locking tab in it's groove and no other grooves for it to go in but there seems to be space (circled) for the upward tangs to go further before hitting the stop(s), I can only see the one angle so it's hard to tell.
I'd look at the manufactures pictures of the tank and lock ring you got, compare to different manufacturers parts and original if possible to try and spot the discrepancy there's something up! The wrong flange could've ended up on the tank or there was possibly a mix up with packaging lock rings? All that stuff is made in factories with revolving door, temp agency, lower paying jobs now so there's alot more mistakes and poor QC.
I feel bad for you man this isn't a small thing it's kind of a big deal! Not that I see it making a difference but be sure you have a vented gas cap as well or you'll only make it X amount of miles before vacuum in the tank prevents the fuel pump from doing it's thing!
I do still have the original tank I'll go check and see what the lock ring looks like on it. I dont think the cap isn't venting, it hasn't sucked the tank flat yet Lol!
It's not a big leak just weeps a little fuel only when filled up enough to touch the sending unit. I can still drive it fine.

Got me some freebies today! Neighbor had them on his zero turn and they kept loosening his lugs. Started wallowing his lug holes. Guy at his dealership said it was due to too much traction. Not sure how I feel about that, but I can maybe see that with a zero turn. Either way, he came up to me and asked if I wanted them.
They seem to be a bit over inflated. I'll bring them down. Curious if they would fit on the dirty rat for looser dirt?

Er, too much traction? sounds like someone didn't have their lugs tightened down enough. Anyhow, you got them for free, and that's definatly the best price to pay!!!

Upon closer inspection, I can kind of see why he was having issues with the wheels. There isn't a way to tighten the lug nuts all the way to the hub. Either offset in or out, lugs can't tighten down to the hub due to the stamping of where the lugs are. To combat this, a washer will be needed on the hub side. That should work fine!

Little bit of an odd thought that's been nagging at me for a little while, has anyone ever tried to build a mud mower on a compact chassis? I found this on kijji, and I was thinking, what if you got a ford V8 out of an old RV or something, swapped the gearing in that tranny and then made a giant mud mower? Kind of expensive, but I'm seeing guys throw $1500-$2k at their rigs already, why not take it up a notch? (You might even be able to get an old RV for free, I saw one in Huntsville there that the guy was willing to pay $200 bucks to whoever would take it off his hands)
Honestly don't really need a UTV per se, just thought 1200 bucks was a pretty decent deal for that rig, don't think I really have that much coin to throw at that at this point, might keep an eye on it though.

Well you win some you lose some, I didn't really have 1200 bucks anyway, so I'm not really too broke up, nowhere near as bad as when I missed a older JD skid steer for a thousand bucks

I not actually sure if I have a BO tractor yet still tossing around some options, we'll have to see if I end up getting a job this summer and that will pretty much dictate what my project will be, I cannibalized the tranny out of the tractor that was supposed to be the base, I'm thinking now of just cutting the dump bed entirely and just having it not dump at all, won't be as useful, but a hell of a lot cheaper.
