Multiple trans/drivetrain options (mostly chain drive ideas) - single speed by way of torque converter and forward/reverse gearbox, peerless 700, foote 3 speed H pattern, etc.
No known (yet) parts other than what's listed above, as I just don't have them yet. The build will be interesting, as being a current full-time college student (Go Beavs!) I will only have limited weekend hours, spring break and summer quarter to work on it (and maybe winter break next year before the buildoff ends).
The idea behind it is a long-distance endurance build, with a slight rally flair. I had done this with Hellcat II and made 78 miles on one tank of fuel at about 20 miles an hour on smoother surfaces(machine is in my signature) and took note of everything that went wrong so I could just... build it better. Suspension was a must, better gearing for speed potential and efficiency, better fuel capacity, better electrical... pretty much better everything. Though I am a student, my time being limited in the build window, my funding is not as tight, and this has been something I've wanted to do since the inception of the build-off years ago. I also intend to add some electronic gadgets much like on Hellcat II, but modular in nature - easily removable when not needed so something more appropriate can be attached.
Consider it a high-tech (ish), high speed (ish) endurance machine.

Watching. I would sure like to see someone use a Peerless 700 in a rig. I have one waiting for a project.
Thanks, it's currently where I'm leaning. I have two. One is an oddball single speed 700 series, with a modified H pattern shift, and a race prepped 5 speed. I think the 5 speed will be the way to go, given it being so built up.

Little update - first part procurement done, as is a semi-finalized plan. Going to run with the CV730 twin as it's the best engine I have hands down. Going to pull the 700 from Christine since I'm converting her to a torque converter drive system anyway. Now the only choice I have to make is to retain the 8:1 yamaha G1 rear, or set up pillow blocks and a straight axle. I like the idea of gear reduction, but I do not like having yet another drinker of oil when it comes time for maintenance, and to have to overdrive the transmission to get any speed as it would be counterproductive to endurance... race-prepped or not. Races don't last a hundred plus miles anyway.
Oh, and that procurement... DOT approved tires on polaris rzr 14's:
That'll be enough from me today, video coming soon. First, this stupid Wildlife conservation mid-term.

I see I'm not the only one with alloy wheels now lol. Sounds like a pretty interesting start. I was originally gonna do a straight axle too when I was planning my rear suspension. Decided to just go solid in the interest of simplicity, but using a straight axle suspension or not has some benifits. For one, it's a lot easier to find a place to mount your brakes. Hope you recover soon.
A little update... Some things regarding this (and every other) build went WAY south on me. Long version, I was a victim of social security number fraud and have been chasing that down for weeks while losing $ fast. I still haven't completely come to the bottom of that one. Short version - because of the ID/social theft, I am nearly broke AND will not be getting a tax refund for up to 9 months while they investigate on their end. Last time this happened to my mother, she never saw the money at all. SO...
I'm not giving up, but the build quality may suffer some at least cosmetically and whatnot. I'll have a proper build progress report here very soon.

Oh man that's terrible, I once got took for some money via a bad online purchase that spiraled into me apparently buying memberships into a bunch of non existent sites and clubs. Boy did I feel violated but couldn't even imagine how you're feeling... There's 8 months until the build off is over for you to win the lottery so hang in there!
Someone got my ssn back when I was just 18! Talk about stress and all. I fought, got the financials corrected, took several months.
Just recently, someone got ahold of my debit card #. Got off about 30 $0.99 charges and some kind of $50 apple membership. My bank is pretty good at getting that corrected.
Good luck man! Don't give up or in.

Well thanks guys. I'd say it's no big deal but we know it is. Still, not going to give up on any of this. I did my best work picking from junk piles, which I now have plenty (lol) I guess I can do it again, eh?

Another setback/delay but I'm just getting cracking on the next phase of the build - steering repairs and mods. I'm tied up until the 28th though, and won't be active on that until then.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to drop out. Sucks, like really **insert expletive of choice here** sucks. I had a recent visit to the hospital, and am now on a very restricted activity and diet profile I have to follow. What's worse, I was on track for a 'first start' in the next week too. Only had a few things left to do for an initial shakedown cruise. After all these years trying to take part. Sorry. I'll keep building on it if and when i can, but I know it won't be done in time with all this going on.
See ya around I suppose.

That sucks man I hope things turn around for you soon! I was excited for this build but life happens right? Don't be a stranger you can always pop in to shoot the breeze!

Thanks. It'll still get worked on, just at a much slower pace.
