| Racer... Humm never really built one before. I am thinking.. 1 take rear end out and dip it in oil and grease it all up. 2 take a 2 inch pulley and mount it in the rear. 3 new belt. Anything else? | |

| maybe change the front pulley and lower it a bit if you can. i think most people that have a racer mowers usually put some type of gas pedal or a hand throttle on the steering wheel | |

| Dynamarks dont have that great of steering to begin with- id use a direct steer setup - youll need it when you lower it. Any smaller then 3" on the trans - the belt will fall off- 2" is too small. I know on my dynamarks they all run oil filled transmissions - id use a heavy gear oil - i threw lucas oil additive into my murray's trans - thick stuff but sticks to everything. Id also be looking into better brakes. I like my foot throttle on my MTD more then the hand one on my murray - easier to control - all you basically need is a return spring hooked to the throttle ( to snap it shut) and a bicycle brake/shift cable to a pedal /hand throttle- i used small u clamps looped back to the main throttle cable . In the picture i had to temporarily use some bolts i drilled out for a cable clamp- it has the u clamps now. | |

| Mine arent for racing either - but like what happened to my murray - once i had a taste of some speed, y want to go faster.
I havent really been out for sub sonic speed- heck the 30 plus seemed fast enough at times, but im aiming for around 50 mph. Was just the tractor weaved all over ( front axle wasnt locked, stock steering) .
With the mod MTD- handling is TONS better - feels stable , steers tight ( even with stock steering) , did some basic lowering ( i have more planned soon) - im considering using a go kart clutch , and a straight axle - IF i can build that right angle gear box correctly- with the 18HP twin, it should move pretty quickly.
I still want to tinker some with my old murray sometime- see if i can lower it a bit, lock the front axle. | |

| I just got a stage 2 snowblower for it for 50$.. lol I dont think I am going to race it. I will probably do some more repairs and sell it with the blower for a little profit and buy another offroad project.. | |

| I had a pull off today. My dynamark with a 11hp engine vs a craftsman with a 4sp 12hp engine with deck. I lost on asphalt.. but it was equal in snow.. | |
