I despise these up draft carburetors. I'll get it running to make the video and save it. Then upload it toward the end of the month if I don't get anything else done to it. If I do I won't use that 1st video and just make a 2nd but I want a complete video done incase if something was to happen to it.

Decided i was tired of looking at the light bar on the counter so robbed some Murray Widebody C channel and started making the mount. Now i took the original fog lights for these tractors off a spare. Disassembled and stripped them for paint. Mine was missing on mine but i was fine with it because i didn't care for the look of them. Now seeing them in person I'm digging the look. Fog lights and light bar are in now. Need to still wire them up and throw some paint on it. Hate welding on painted body parts.. Overall all that part is done. Plan to do tail lights eventually. If this was yours would you wire the light bar on a separate switch then your tail&fog lights or just wire it all up together fog, lightbar, & tail lights?

i'd run the dimmer set, i'd imagine the fog lights, and the tail lights on one switch, then the light bar on a seperate switch, it would be like having brights and dims on a car, i know totally unnecessary on this but that's the kind of thing i prefer to do

Well my time got cut short. Went to Virginia for Christmas supper early and won't be able to head back until Monday due to black ice and I believe snow in my area up there in WV. Cutting it super close. Went ahead and bought a head gasket for the heck of it. Gotta clean the carb and install a dash throttle immediately when I get back up there for the video. Where are the rules of how to finish the build off? I seen them back in February somewhere. Thanks!

I got great news. She runs and drives but isn't pretty. To cold to paint up the areas that I welded on hood unless I clean out the little shed to heat up for paint. Got some junk choke cave ran as a throttle for now and carb/governor is tuned. Just drove in to town and advance is closed so gotta wait till morning. Need to snag a boat load if paint at Walmart tomorrow morning. I'll start on the rear rack tonight hopefully. I'll do my best to get the winch bumper on and attest bolt the winch on tomorrow maybe. Wonf have time to wire it up most likely. Definitely wire the fog lights and light bar up. Tail lights might have to wait. Working on a brake leaver to be able to crank down on the belt for tension. She Flys. Excited to finally be able to ride this turd and not have to push it back in to the garage. Lol! Have to paint the old starter gen. Thats a must. No time for exhaust but is what it is.

Your dump bed mower was the only finalist this year so far? Its really dropping interest this year I the build forum. Down to 4 I believe.

@Hillbilly Offroading yeah i realised in october i'd not be able to do everything i wanted, nearly gave up finishing at all to be honest, so i decided to sacrifice the cosmetics to at least finish it for the comp, i planned a nice paint job, duel bed stacks, f/r lights and baby moon hub caps, none of these were done due to financial reasons, from the beginning i never thought i would come close to winning, but if i won because i was the only one to finish, i couldn't honestly consider myself a winner especially after cutting so much from my original plans, your tractor is a lot nicer than mine, so i hope you get it done in the last few days left

@darkside0914 I almost did as well. After getting it running I started having a bunch of electrical issues a few months later. You have a good build weather its painted like you wanted it or not. Thats the first time I've seen a utility bed on one. Be sweet to do a 2nd axle on that tractor.

Rear rack is built. Taking it off or paint. Thinking about bed liner. My hitch plate is on i style for my '73 Gilson S-10 workhorse. Figured out a way to use the old tow Hooks of the '84 k10. Has a muffler now. Rear end gear lub changed and gear box is crammed full of grease. Wonder if anyone gas put a grease fitting onto of one before to get it packed good. No pics but now there's side handles on either side of seat, a trunk handle, and foot throttle. That '79 Yamaha YZ125 brake handle worked out perfectly. Still getting it knocked slowly. Pulled a all night last night.

@Hillbilly Offroading i appreciate the kind words, and it came out better than i thought it would, there is at least 1 other mower here that i know of with a bed like mine, it's based off a simplicity i think, he did his differently, he mounted the bed above the wheels where i wanted mine to have more of a 20s/30s pickup look, as for a 4x6, i considered it, the main reason i didn't do it as a 4x6 at the time is because i'd lose a large portion of the bed to fit the 2nd axle, it's only around 40 to 42in long and the 20in tires i want to run plus a little spacing between them would take almost all of that,

What the crap? I took the starter gen off to paint and went to install it and whole system is dead. I've gone through everything looking for a faulty wire, solenoid, fuse, & everything has good grounds. Come to find out the push button crapped out on me. I've got horrible luck.

at least it's an easy fix, i had the same thing happen on mine, so i said to heck with it and had my brother wire in a factory key switch, he's better with that kind of thing than i am

waisted a whole hour on it. Luckily I had a spare.

@MightyRaze Tractor is Complete but ran out of day light to film. Will get that done tomorrow morning.

@MightyRaze  Shes Complete! There's a few things that need tweaked like beffing up the support for the foot throttle, stiffer clutch springs, ect but its done. 2nd video will be out later on all that I did for those that were following but this video is yhe build entry video stating it runs and drives. Happy New Year and good luck to the the other competitors.

Excellent.  Only thing missing in your video was killing it without touching the engine.  I have followed your video's and FB updates so I know that it passes for that.  Great Job!  See you in the vote!
