2019 Build-Off Discussion

Now that's funny. I figured out a long time ago why you 2 wasn't pink. I don't see why we are pink anyway. We are just normal form users even though were in the build off.

It's because we put you in a group "Build-Off 2019" so we can send notifications or what have you to a smaller audience. That color is just what was selected.

Ok so quick question for the Build Off 2019 Admins, i have a 1987 Sears Suburban GT19.9 tractor i'm thinking of putting in the build off. Question is with it already having a new motor, upgraded tires and a couple other mods, would it still qualify if i was planning on tearing it all apart and rebuilding it from the ground up anyway? Thanks.

Depends on what you mean by "rebuild".  If it is just tearing it down to clean and repaint, maybe not.  If you were tearing it down to "change" it, probably so.

*Change would be rebuilding to dramatically change it to do something new.

Yeah it would need to be a dramatic change (see 50% rule). Tearing down and putting it back together does not count. There needs to be a large effort.

Ok, it probably wouldn't qualify then hahaha, what I mean by "rebuild" is yes tearing it down to clean and paint, but I do plan on along the way making custom parts or whatever comes up that I need to adapt the tractor to, definitely plan on adding lights and a front bumper of some kind with a winch. I just won't put it in the build off, cause not only would it not qualify, but also knowing me I'll forget all about it, build it m, and then come to think... oh shoot I forgot to update the forum hahahaha!

OK guys, I know we love the community in the site, but lets keep some of the non-meaning chit-chat out of the build off threads.  Let's try to keep the talk technical as possible.  7 guys following a post saying "Looks good" kind of clutters the topics.  Especially if the topic gets long.

Thanks and keep up the good work.  This goes for me as well as anyone else.

I've really been noticing these things recently as well. I'd have to agree it's probably about time to try and cut back on it a bit

@MightyRaze I couldn't agree more. I like getting on the site to view BUILD threads, not mindless bs facebook style chit chat

Man I would love to score a couple good tire deals like last year for my build-off rig.  I think I only paid about 100$ for all 4 of Kal's tires.

I'm sure everyone is starting to get the "Build-Off Burn-out".

Oh I've been preparing for when I get mine back LOL. I've got 2-3 other pages pulled up right now with stuff I'll  be ordering, that is, if we don't head out to Tennessee to go to Harbor Freight...

SO... 2 Months left. I'm already seeing the whittle down effect. Hope we have enough finishing competitors...

It's making 2020 Build-off questionable. Fingers crossed.

Couple questions concerning the Build-Off here...

1.  You can vote for anyone, but you only get 1 vote. Anyone with an active account can vote even entrants and you do not have to vote for yourself.

2.  Any video source is OK as long as anyone can view it and it meets the final video requirements.

Upon completion, builder MUST post a video of completed build, consisting of a walk-around and operation to demonstrate function and capabilities.

My multimeter battery just died and I was about to get a new 9volt for it.  Then I realized, I believe the clamp meter has one on it...  Great timing!
