Clutch version 1,mod 3 is a failure. Back to the drawing board I guess.

Thanks! I need to order a bunch of heim joints for steering and clutch linkgages along with chain tensioner idler sprockets.

ordered 8 heim joints and a chain idler for $37.50 from amazon. should get here around Wednesday.

still hobbling around and cant lift anything 0ver 8 lbs for around 2-3 weeks. so small projects for awhile and no more lifting mowers up on saw horses lol.

Haha, take 'er easy bud!  I assume that the 2-3 weeks means 1 1/2 weeks...    That's the way it works with me at least, haha!

Yeah probably. Hopefully I heal faster than expected and the doctor gives me permission to lift engines soon lol

Going to use this little chain idler to keep the chain from rubbing the bottom of the oil filter mount. Should be able to work on it today as I am feeling very good.

Yeah that's a problem you're going to want to fix sooner than later. I wonder if a chain guide would work here like a dirtbike has?

A plastic style slider like a dirtbike would probably work, but the idler gear should work good too. Definitely don't want the chain wearing a hold through the oil passages in the block.

I was considering moving the engine back another inch and it would clear just fine and not need a idler , It's just more work and filling holes but it might be worth it.when I originally planned on the engine location I still had a 8btooth sprocket on the gearbox and when I swapped it I didn't think about clearance issues.

The parts company even sent a racey little magazine with the joints , All kinds of sweet little things I could use ! Lol

Well , I got finally got stuff done today! Welded up some tie rods and added heim joints on them then swapped out the trans sprockets so it now clears the engine. ( I will put a smaller sprocket on the axle to achieve higher speeds if needed.) And made a little idler for it under the frame.

Nice tie rods! How are the Ackerman angles on that style of steering? It looks like they should be right.

The angles are stock, and they look pretty good ! It's almost a 1 to 1 ratio and pretty nice.

Update for the second month of the build off.

Still need to figure out the clutch, steering and front axle is done but needs better front tires . Still need to move the engine back to create 1/2" more chain room so I can use the 15 tooth sprocket on the trans or something. Engine runs, gas tank is mounted, axle is mounted, needs a seat lol.

Moved the mounting hole location back another inch and a half, filled in all the old stock and holes I made, ground it down , filled in the old engine slot and other hole that was partially filled in . I need to get a hole saw now (thanks for making me question the square mounting holes rich) and also got some front paws on. Swapped the bigger sprocket back on the trans and now with two master links and a half link it does not need a tensioner and does not bit the oil filter mount .

Definitely looks pretty neat like that. Haha.

I love the lowered stance it has! Have you thought about moving the seat lower to the frame? I think the COG might be too high with the seat like that.

I can't imagine what people are going to think when you come ripping down the road at 50 mph with that thing....
