Lucky I would love a mat 206, had a 205 and it lasted super well until I down shifted way to hard. best one I've ever had. Probably had in in the Murray for 7 or 8 months hehe

Yeah I love my MST.

never had a complaint about mine. i could have prevented the breakage if i would have put on better brakes.

My Mst was ok, you could tell it was way lighter than an 820 though. Only really suitable for light builds like murrays. Was a lot quieter than the 820, but then again it didnt have almost rice paddy tires on it

MST's always looked really wimpy to me, not a lot of casting really. Seem to work okay for some people though, haha.

I haven't PURPOSELY abused my mst, but I ran it for a few months, (and I drive my tractors every day) without any front supports. With the mud lites, it violently threw the front of the trans up and into the frame, bending the rear mounts. (Yikes)
Funny thing is it's fine. Also, in that time, I was forced to shift without the clutch or the belt would fall off. So yeah they are pretty stout hahaha!

Ouch. And people say I am hard on trannys ............... if I get the 2300 it will go in the quag mower and huge tires are going on then.

I would never run a trans without front mounts. That's a really dumb decision. Just asking to rip the transaxle in half.

Especially with aggressive tires on the rear, haha. I had the forward mount bolts come loose in my 600 under the MTD when I first swapped it in, and it would jerk upwards when I let the clutch out. I put lock washers on them cuz I definitely didn't want that to happen again.

Ok here's a around month update.

Engine is mounted, small rack was made but needs some improvement, may or may not keep the deck harware. Steering needs some work cause the gears slip if turned hard.

i figured i would make my 1500th post something i havent show off yet, hope ya like it!

Yuppers!. It fits in nicely, needs a few mounts built but I need to sell an engine so I can buy some steel to make them . Pretty low on material right now.

Looks like it fits well! Just needs some 8 inch front rims and some bigger tires up front

Get you some braces made and that will do nicely.

I agree with CQ, get some 16" tires on 8" rims on the front and it'll look just like a Craftsman GT, haha.

I got some old 8 inch rims with 16 inch tires of of a jd 140 .

@biggasmowers Yeah I agree with the other guys.  8" front rims are the way to go.  That's cool that you have some.

I'm excited to see this transaxle swap progress.  Should be an interesting project.  I think it will last a long time for you too.

So Iwe a mount and shifter, that's about it tho. I need to figure out the ragb setup and I think I am going to run belts on both ways.
