| Well, I've never seen a AWS tractor before. But I assume that if you trace the rods from the trans all the way back to where they came from, there should be a bolt or a cotter pin or something along those lines there. Just remove them and pull the rods off. | |

| I’ll get some pictures of my setup when I get a chance. Mine was an AWS noma as well, but branded as a craftsman | |

| Well , I have to say don't get halfway into the noma and decide to use a different mower for a off road build . I have learned to leave hydro alone because of how much work it is to undo all of the stock things designed for a hydro setup. I would try to get the noma running and sell if for over 350 as those AWS mowers are not super easy to find as they do a very good job of grass cutting . Craftsman AYP style frames and mowers are the easiest to mod and can be gotten cheaply . They can come with spicer or peerless trans but if not abused too hard the spiders can hold up quite well. I think if you keep your eyes out for mowers in people's back yards that look like they have been sitting for awhile you can get them cheap or free , all you have to do is ask , I have gotten a few mowers that way and they generally just need a carb cleaning or new belts. Just trying to lend some personal advice. Oh and hydro don't do well with pulley swaps or bigger than stock tires . | |

| Finally im back at it again. Sorry for using K. I wont use it from now on. The only reason I used was because I use my phone a lot to look at the forum. And it just takes a lot longer to right out another thing. And especially long to go back and fix my mistakes in the typing. | |

| Yeah using a phone is kind of annoying but it's what I have readily available to check stuff and it's nice for posting.
Have you decided to use the noms or a different mower? | |

| Cool. Maybe you can sell the stuff you take off to help offset some costs. Look for a peerless , but if you get a spicer for super cheap (as in almost free) that will work ok. | |

| New stuff is always cool lol. Electrical components are always good to buy on the internet, you pretty much know what you're getting 100% of the time, and you don't have to leave the house for them. | |

| Cool those are some great engines if they are around the 93 year make. the newer engines have a plastic timing gear on them and it can break if the engine is ungoverened. my murray has a cv14s and iam hopefully going to put my new but not yet running again cv14s in my new racing build. i have a youtube channel called Biggasmowers that has videos of my murray running and driving if your interested. oh and if you still have the amazon money, get tires instead of electronics as they are more useful and make a huge difference compaired to turf tires. Where is the oil coming from? if its not much i wouldn't worry about it but if its like constantly oozing out then it should be fixed. | |

| I had an engine do that once, it was dripping out where the intake manifold met the block. I just tightened the bolts and it stopped. | |

| So i have a question. i dont know if any of you could answer it or be interested in seeing it. But i have an old 70s Arctic cat kitty cat. And i know if i did this i would have to document it in a different forum website. But lots of people mod them. And i am obviously too small for it and its too slow. so i was thinking about swapping the engine for a predator and somehow making a long track conversion for it. So i could actually fit on it. But I have till next year to do it because the snow is done here till next year. But i will hopefully have a welder sometim in the next year so i could fabricate basic stuff hopefully. But im not stopping the mower project. Im doing the mower project for now until i get to a good point. But would anyone be interested in seeing that. | |
