I just did rear shocks on the ranger today. Front shocks will go on as soon as I have a good enough jack to get the front end off the ground lol. I’ll pick up muffler clamps right after the new year (be safe everyone) and cab mounts will be ordered within the next week or two.
Future plans are an 06+ front clip and bed, an 8.8 from an explorer (they have disk brakes), and maybe a 5.0 v8 also from an explorer. Might just buy a wrecked late 90s explorer v8 and repower it.
Right now it’s got a Dana 35 front axle (keeping that) and a 7.5 rear end. 3.73 gears. TTB front suspension, AK might geek out about that lol
How many miles you got now AK?

Update on the daily’s. Got the front shocks done on the ranger, redoing the exhaust tomorrow possibly. Might get a video we’ll see. Got the engine pulled from the Grand Prix for the impala, just gonna do some maintenance to it while it’s out and easy to get to
Just the engine, trans, and wiring harness. Transferring that to my cradle. I know my alignment is dead on and I have an aluminum cradle. Plus the Grand Prix has a bad steering rack and a bad alignment

Got a new truck for free a while back, spent all day working on it now that I’ve got the long weekend for the holiday. 1994 Chevy 1500. 4.3 tbi, 5 speed stick, 2wd. Did brakes, front wheel bearings, and replaced the lights that were burnt out. Gonna daily it for a couple wheels since the ranger is being weird and this one has gas in it haha....33 gallon tank too!!
Reason I or it for free is the rear of the frame is rusted out. Needs plated and welded up. It’s right where the rear leaf spring mounts. Not good!

ALSO bought a 2000 bmw 528i in South Carolina to drive when I’m there for work since I’m too young for a rental. Paid 2400 dollars, has somewhere around 100k, but the dash reads 632k. The brake lights stay on, speedo works about 20% of the time, and the odometer like I already mentioned. Other than that it’s absolutely mint! Automatic unfortunately

Jeez now you've got a BMW? Nice shot of the truck with the fireworks.
Yeah, wasn’t my first choice. I just needed a car that day. I really wanted a Saturn ion with a stick shift believe it or not haha. Buddy had one that he beat the tar out of and was mildly quick. Was zippy and fun to drive.
And thanks! Took several tries but finally got one I liked

Ranger is still so much nicer to drive. Rides better, turns tighter, handles better, and it tows well. The Chevy is fast though for what it is. The 4.3 is nice and torquey

Yeah I know you've put a good bit of time and money in 'er. I'd prefer a Ford myself, I just like 2 door long beds. I'm not a big fan of the small truck world. A blue '78-'79 F150 2 door long bed, preferably 4WD, I'd be in heaven.

The ranger actually is a long bed. I love the regular cab long bed too, but also the regular cab short bed if it’s done right. I’ve always loved this generation Chevy but this one is a 2wd v6...not my ideal drivetrain, though I do love the stick.
Yesterday I went to the junkyard with a friend and we brutally tore apart another Chevy truck. Tore the bed off and cut the frame in half, so now I’ve got a full back half of a Chevy frame to use with all of the brackets. I’ll cut my truck in half and weld it in place. Also got a set of aluminum wheels too. Should make it look a lot better and hopefully boost the resale

Sad to say my truck is out of commission for a while... the old radiator doesnt long for this world. I might take it to a rad shop and see if they think its worth repairing, maybe good to have a spare for whatever comes up.
Gona get a new one for it at any rate. New thermostat, hoses, and water pump.
Im pretty sure Ive been having trouble with vapor lock after running it and shutting it down for a few minutes. Thats the next major project. Gona put a Ramcharger Tank in it, new fuel lines and rout them away from the headers, heat shielding on the lines and an electric pump. Re routing the lines, and the electric pump should really help with vapor lock.
Im sure the new cooling system should help some too.
Oh, look under the hood. Check out them intakes haha
