Looks like I did have a little time today to mess with the tractor. Modded the atv spindles to work with the 3/4 axle. Put them on the tractor and as I expected a little narrow, but not bad and I expected it. I still need some tweaking, but that is ok.

I am going to put a one inch spacer on the hub. Then I was thinking about raising the front about another quarter inch. No rub on frame right now but I am catching the side panel some.

Good progress today. I like where I am setting now. Tires on level ground do not rub. About 3/4 inch clearance both sides. I like the stance. I can turn the tires EASILY by hand. Nice feel. I'm happy with it. I need 2 more bolts then drill a hole on each spindle rod for my pin and it will be good to go. Work on new steering rods, get it steering and then take that part for paint next weekend hopefully. Finally some progress!!!
WOW, this is my 400th post!

Worked a while today, doesn't seem like much but lots of structural is done. Front and Rear done. Decided to see what kind of speed I can get with a large front pulley. If I want more, I'll mod the rear pulley.
As she sits:
Steering cleaned up a bit and tightened up.
Got some 2" spacers for the rear to widen it a bit.
Now for a screw up, hooked the steering up WRONG so my rod is about 3 inches too short. I can still use this rod in another application on the build.
And finally a profile.
Thats all for today.

No updates till this weekend. Waiting a couple more degrees to paint the frame. Low 70's today, mid 70's tomorrow and Sat, mid 80's Sunday. Going with a Massey Grey. Plan on the front wheels the same. Front hubs will be red, as well as steering linkages. I hope to get that done Saturday, maybe Sunday. I have some parts on order. I have some new tail lights I think will be sweet for the build. I need to check my stash of switches to see what I have for the dash. I need a few! Then again, I may just go get some new ones so they all match in some way. Dash I am thinking Red, that should get painted too. I finally got the ammeter replacement that I needed over a year ago to fill in the big hole. Should be in tomorrow. Hoping to change out my sump gasket and bottom oil seal this weekend too. I also got new head gaskets. I think my left one is leaking. Check some stuff while I have it open.
That is all for now.

Awesome day today! Lots done, not all on the tractor, but lots from on a tractor. 81 degrees today and enjoyed it most of the day. Started the day this morning by buying a new tree for the house and planted it. Then I mowed the yard for the first time ever at the new house. Grass is coming up nicely! All the trees are full leaves in the yard. Not all the trees around are leaved out yet.
Well anyways, I did get some stuff done on the tractor. I painted the frame today, front rims and the steering linkages. Now for the pix for the day! Tomorrow, I hope to figure out the front brake linkages. I know how I want to hook it up, but not sure how about doing that. I am going to have it where I can activate them independently or when I depress the clutch/brake.

That was today. Well, after painting the frame and wheels, I have gotten a whole lot of NOTHING done. I was hoping to get the engine done yesterday. Instead, I planned, changed mind, worked a little changed mind, planned some more and decided to abort and rethink the front drum brake hookup. I originally was thinking just hand brake, then I was like, hook to both hand and foot brake. I decided in the end to just do a hand brake with them. Now to figure that out. I know what I need to do, but the cables are odd length and with the twist in the drive belt, I will have belts everywhere. LOL Hopefully I have this worked out by this weekend.

Just so you know, 1-1 ratio from engine to trans on a 633 transmission isn't all that fast. Maybe 10-15mph, I forget exactly but that's how I had the baja sears geared. On my simplicity, also with a 633, I had to overdrive it quite a bit, then I got some usable speed in high gear. You might be at an advantage already though with your larger diameter rear wheels. That's like having taller gearing already.
Right now, I will be happy with 10-15. Yeah, the tires are about 5-6 inches taller. It will be a tight fit under the fenders.
Did some work on the front hand brake tonight. Made some progress. The spring on the left front to release the brake is a little weak. I may need to figure out how to tighten that or maybe lubricate the cable? I'd like to do the prior before lubricating.
Used the deck height adjustment parts for the hand brake. A nut in there for adjustment.
Little video of it in action.
Fix that release then on to the engine.

Got the left front brake dialed in tonight. Will do the right one tomorrow.
Issue was, the engager was almost seized up. Cleaned it out and added some anti-seize. Also shortened the weak spring by 2 links. Now it is pretty smooth operating.
I should start the engine gaskets Sunday if it is raining. Otherwise I will be planting more of the garden.

I will be finishing planting seed tomorrow morning to noon in the garden. Later tomorrow, I will be FINALLY hoping to put on the new gaskets on the engine. Unfortunately they are predicting a moderate risk for strong storms possibly tornado's. I will need to keep an eye out.
