I am going with the Kohler diesel, not that V twin gas. it is my project and I DON'T WANT A GAS ENGINE PERIOD.

I completely understand. I do crap the hardway too. Sometimes you gotta throw the WTF out there to make sure they are doing it intentionally

Just a quick update on my planned build, I will not have to lengthen the frame. I will have LED lights, a smoke stack, Winch, brush guard, and new seat. My estimated cost for the build is about 7k to 8k, my plan is to get a brand new engine from Kohler built to how i want it.

Also the Diesel does come with a fuel pump

Continuing Discussion.

Glad we have enough finishers to vote. Too bad there was so many DNFs or nothing beyond entry post.

Look at all the spam I created. Dont think im gonna do that again next year lol

How many finishers are there?

Not enough. I wonder why so many people don't finish, maybe they underestimated what they were doing, forgot about it, or maybe they did finish but just didn't post them?

Life tends to get in the way, things don’t go as planned. Parts you thought would work don’t, budget runs out, wife gets involved on said budget, etc

I’ve met a lot more project starters in my life than I have project finishers. I think people lose focus and motivation.

We had a transmission we were gonna use but the gears were messed up from sitting with water in it. We didn’t have the budget for a new trans so the project died

I never set a budget, but I am sure I blew it all to hell . I had to deal with back problems, work and lost interest a few times. I need the full build time( plus and extra week). I don't think I would have planned such a sophisticated build with a shorter timeline... but I didn't see it taking this long either

Why yes you did!

To be fair the turnout has been on-par with previous years. 6 out of 24 is still a quarter of people.

Havent done much in terms of planning for 2018 but its year 5 so there may be some extra incentive, who knows.

3rd time this year for this cr@p. I get to spend more time on the couch, beer and muscle relaxers and sleep alot for the next 2 or 3 weeks. Taking it easy only sucks when you have sh!t you need to get done. We have a hot tub now. That should speed it up. Cold weather and tight muscles dont mix though.

Tatar, I recently put in a hot tub too because my back acts up (not as bad as yours) and my knees, ankles and feet ache a lot too but after a 15 minute soak in the tub I feel like butter. Then I do some stretching afterwards which is really important . At work we have an inversion table that I can hang upside down on which kind of helps my back.

Im good at starting projects and not finishing them... BUT I HAVE EVERY INTENTION TO FINISH THEM.        

Its easy for me to loose interest because I dont have a good place to work on them, or if I need some material or something, I think, well, I can do this instead and bam new project.

Does selling a project count as finishing it? (lol @Craftsmanquad19)

I start off strong and then get busy with other stuff. Hope to have the Snapper done by Haspin.

There’s a motto my half brother and I say “start off strong and taper off” lol

I think i did most of my build in 3 months... but it got strung out over 9 because it always felt like I had alot of time left to get it done. The sprint at the end is what killed me.
