| Lol, yeah I know I wanted to do that, just didn't have time to mess with it for this year. Had to finish the trailer and the other tractor. After haspin some time I will add a back up light. I want to make a nice bracket for it so it's good and tucked in, trying to decide on a place for it under the seat. | |

| Good idea with the back up light. Mutt needs one. Maybe a dash light too? Could set it up like an old tractor to where one of those little GM bulbs goes in and there's a little cover that goes on over with a slit in it to shine the light just over the dash. | |

| Actually log jump landings are not as bad with the super simplicity as you would think from looking at the pics. The front suspension takes up much of the front end blow and the rear doesn't actually get off the ground that far. If I ever get around to editing more video I'll put those scenes in slow motion as well. It's best if you rise up off the seat as much as possible before the back wheels hit.
Also it looks like I was going 50 mph and launching over the log in that top pic, but really that's just on the way back down after hopping over. The slow-mo is a lot neater than the normal video. | |

| First snow of the year here in New Jersey. Not sure if I got much chance to try it out in the snow last year, I can't remember. Anyway, it's about 32 degrees here and we have about 5-6" of wetish snow. Just started light rain and I did a bit of test running. Got through it no problem with the narrow front wheels. On the flat or down hill, 2nd gear high range works decent for cruising. For up hill or in the woods, 1st low is necessary. Still running good and everything working after not being started for a few months. Couldn't take any pictures as I didn't have my camera. | |

| It's been awhile since the Simplicity has been out and running. Today I brought it out for some quick yard service. A few small logs cut up by the power company keeping the lines clear needed to be picked up and moved to the wood storage area. Then a few branches broken off a pine tree in the last storm needed to be dragged away. With both of those tasks completed, I decided to go for a short off road run and headed out back to the woods. Headed up the steep hill out back while battling some mild carb/running issues and light snow still left on the ground. I decided to turn around at our property marker after getting stuck twice and stalling a couple times. I had noticed that the clutch belt had flipped over (which had never happened before) Also noted a small nick in the belt. I flipped the belt back to the correct side and continued back down the hill heading for home. Coming back down the hill I left it in gear as per normal procedure to save the brakes. But as I reached the bottom of the hill and attempted to shift up, I noticed the engine revving out of control. Then I noticed the clutch wasn't doing anything and looked down to see the broken belt laying over the front axle. Knowing it would make a good ATLTF story I quickly shut down the engine and took a picture before doing anything else. Next was to sort out the issue and get back home. I remembered the spare belts in the top notch belt holder under the hood. It was getting dark, so of course I flipped on the under hood light to see what I was doing. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get the belts out because I had no wrench to loosen the bolts on the cover. Luckily, the belts weren't that tight and I could slide them out without much trouble. I pulled out the new clutch belt and put it in place. In minutes I was back underway and without needing even a single tool.... That's because the designers at Simplicity's Off Road Division have already thought of all the angles for you. When you hit the trails, you can rest easy knowing the Simplicity Adventure Edition has your back, no matter what the journey may bring. Yep it was just an info-mercial the whole time lol Actually though, it has it's issues here and there, but as far as reliability and being easy to work on, I haven't had many problems at all, and it is nice being able to slip on a new belt by hand. The only thing I needed to do was take out the two upper jackshaft cover pins to get the belt off the jackshaft. The jackshaft brake is still working good too, that was the best modification I did and makes shifting 100x easier. | |

| Great to see this legendary build out doing some wheeling!! After the yard work was done of course, haha. Sucks about the belt issues, almost sounds like something's rubbing on the side of it. At least you were able to put a new one on no problem, sounds like the boys at the SORD really know what they're doing! | Thanks! Yeah I have no idea why the belt flipped. Maybe it just got stretched and whipped around when I pushed the clutch in? Looks like everything is about the same. That belt was the original one though and survived two haspins. So it did it's job for sure. Now I need to replace it in the spare belt holder. | |
