Drive train ideas for community

So just though of this today, what if somebody had a vertical shaft engine and then put a peerless 700 then changed the chain drive to a pulley and after that put a peerless 600/2300? so you would have 3-5 gears then a 3 speed with high & low

Its been tossed around, sure pretty good idea for a work horse i'd say. Ive seen a simple 1:1 right angle gear box and chain to a 633, in a craftsman garden tractor. It would be a good idea if you keep blowing vertical shaft rear ends id say.

yeah for a work horse id say its good... just kinda was wondering what have others though of.... that's why I made this post... also im thinking about doing that cause there is a 80's craftsman with a either 600 or a 2300 and I own a 700... a really old one but I think its a 700.. but whatever its just an idea for others to see and comment their drive train ideas on
