| The steering wheel is two fourwheeler chains that I welded up and I melted the center out of the stock plastic steering wheel and welded it in the center of the chain steering wheel.

| Thanks, used the rim of a 12 in subwoofer to hold the chain in a circle and then i tack welded it and removed it from the sub and finished welding it up. And the paint job was just 2 cans 0f 0.99 cent spray paint from lowes with a 3.00 dollar can of clear coat. | |

| Hey Thunderdivine, would it be a good idea to put my engine in sideways because when i put my front axle on top of the frame to lower it took up too much space to put it in normally. | |

| Redlinemotorsportts put his oppy in sideways. As long as your fuel lines and wiring is long enough, go for it! | |

| Yeah why not, I know many that have it sideways including red on here.
Edit: nvm was thinkin you had an oppy to.
Can't you rotate the engine 180 degrees instead?

Well then just go for it sideways - chevy8988 wrote:

Would it be a good idea to use a small pushmower engine for this project? It shouldn't need much power for the lightweight chassis.

| I Would say go for it as long as it is 6hp or more, and that would definitely cut down on fuel cost and weight! | |

| I finally got around to doing some work on the race mower. Different tires on the rear, and rebuilt custom steering wheel. Im takin the dana spicer 5 speed out of the offroad mower to put into the race mower along with the 17.5 hp OHV from the offroad mower. The offroad mower is gonna be used for parts becuase I dont have time for two projects at once.

| Im finally almost done with the racemower i just need to make some belt retainers. this thing probably does about 20 with the current pulley ratio, not sure what the sizes are, i will eventually swap it to go faster, hoping for 40-45. it has already tried to kill me multiple times during test drives and i have crashed it twice. Modifications since the last post i made: -rims -tires -transaxle(now a spicer 5 speed) -6.5 hp predator 173cc engine -custom belt system -new steering wheel -paint -vise grip shifter | |
