Very cool, get a hold of a higher quality camera, and you will be golden! I record off my phone because thats all i have, but it shoots 720 or 480 when focused. so it does ok.

Thanks. Actually, the camera is quite good, but my internet sucks. I been doing what I can to make file size manageable. So, quality suffers.

Coffee maker? now y'all got me thinking about that. I have a little 12v 1 cup unit that I've had in my work vehicle for a couple yars. Fantastic for when there wasn't a Tim Horton's close enough to the job site... MII, maybe.. LOL

Cancer sux! I lost one friend to it already and another lost her breasts, and yet another is still fighting breast-cancer. She used to be a patriots cheerleader. The up-side to it is that after her double masectomy, her husband (my buddy) got to pick out her new set for reconstruction LMAO!!!! WOOHOO!! yeah, I'm a pig pig pig pig

Exhaust, my friend... Exhaust will heat up a cup-o-joe right quick! No need to tax that little alternator any more than it already is lol!

In fact now that I think of it, I'm wondering if it would be possible to use exhaust pressure to pump up a tire. Maybe not high pressure, but... Lots of volume there. I bet it would be easy to rig up an attachment to blow up "tube" for "tubing" or an air mattress for camping.  Cool  But if it pops inside tent I guess you could die.  cheers Rolling Eyes Laughing A Proper Introduction To Doc And MULE 2429134702

A lot of farmers in south America run a VW flat 4 on 2 cyl, and use the other 2 as an air compressor to run pneumatic lifts and attachments.

The thing about the air pump is... The compression stroke. Horribly inefficient, if one were to repurpose an engine as a compressor. I would thing that to do it right, one would need to reprofile the camshaft, and play with valve timing.

The way they do that without major mods is they put a pipe with a check valve in the spark plug hole and remove the exhaust pushrod. They close off the intake runner (so they aren't getting gas in the compressed air) and drill intake holes in the head for air... usually a 1 inch hole with a push in breather. The preferred heads for this are the porche heads, the intake is easier to mod, but Ive seen it done with all types. If someone wants to do it, they'll engineer a way.

Both solutions would work great. Even in a pinch, you could get good pressure from the exhaust if sealed up correctly. To be most efficient, I think I'd have the cam re-profiled AND use the check valve in the sparkplug hole with no exhaust valve pushrod. Compression on every stroke....  Cool
