What colors were you thinking?

Bumper tubing front, rear, and the rub rails on the side will be blue. The frame and some of the other stuff bolted to it will be rustoleum safety yellow. I think maybe some black pickup bed liner on the top of the running boards. I've thought about the seat. I thought maybe it would be neat to paint the seat the same blue as the bumpers, but I don't know if it would look too wild or not. Otherwise I will paint it black. Of course, I could try the blue and paint over it if it looks wierd or I get tired of it. Front shocks will be white. I kind of decided to not make any fenders just now. They were going to be yellow plastic if I could find it. Might not be totally done on the 30th, but it'll be pretty bright looking I think painted up.

you should put those nice atv fenders on it, just cut some off a atv at the junkyard

no prob man about fenders but when somone says baja i think of atvs so i thought atv fenders, that would be cool

Well, took everything apart and started cleaning everything up. Already painted the shocks, seat bracket, battery hold down, brake pedal, and alt. pulley.

Paint! Got a suzuki kind of theme going on. Running boards need some bed liner on top or black paint.


Rear bumper, gas tank straps, seat spring mount.


Decided on black for the seat. Shocks painted up, high heat stuff on the exhaust. Reassembly starts tommorrow.

Well thanks a lot. That's what I was kind of thinking. Of course it will need some more stickers once it's all back together. Only thing is, today I realised that my clutch is on the tension side of the belt instead of the slack side. Some time i'll have to reconfigure that, but there isn't much room to change it. No big deal, i'm sure a solution will present itself in time...

I was thinking of painting sears on there somewhere but with the same style letters that they use on suzukis. Not sure if I could make the letters look similar enough for anyone to notice a resemblance though. As you can see, I painted the front hub cabs blue. I was also going to paint the rear hubs blue since they show through the rim. I'll have to do that sometime after the build off. I have to take the trans out to lock it. At that time i'll paint the trans, hubs, and brake parts. With 3 days left, i'll be lucky to get it going in time. I forgot about the transmission skid plate too, so i'll do something with that later also.

Things look a bit untidy aft, but everything back here is hooked up. Got your tail light ground and power, fuel line and filter, and your vent line.


Used mikuni fuel pump, guess somebody had it on a racing cart or something at one time. That's bolted down, just have to run the fuel line to the carb and the vaccum line to the manifold.


Brazed a piece of brake line into the intake. Now there's a place to hook up the fuel pump.

Is it complete?

Heck no, whole bunch of stuff yet to get rigged together. Plenty of time, I've got till midnight sunday...pllllllllllenty of time...
