Ok, well first off im sorry to report that i wont be able to finish, just to much work and custom stuff that is more labor intensive and tedious as i expected.

Anyways, ill show you the progress so far.

I set up the sprockets and chain




Made a gas tank mount



Heres the imput brade from a snapper hub that works great.


Chain guard and shifter



Things i forgot to take pics of are:
Brake cables and hook up
choke cable
hood pin
wiring
test fire

Still needed to:
Finish brakes and petal
Bolt for shifter
Steering stops
fix gov issue
Throttle handle
exhaust outlet plates
air filter custom setup
lug nut
breather fitting hose
oil seal
gear oil
shifter knob


I wish good luck to other voters i just felt like rushing it was not a good idea and deadline seemed to come sooner then expected, great experience though!

you got closer than i did man, i just ran out of finances on mine, it sucks, but id rather wait and have the money to do it right, rather than rig it and it fall apart

wow man you are close. don't feel bad, that is more complex than anything i've ever done, and my "build" is not nearly indepth as yours. looks like you could finish in about a week or two though!

Yea I could, but I need to get away from it. Working on it constantly isn't super fun. I'd like to make a muffler chaimber for it, to do the shifter linkage, and probably re paint it from the green it is now.

Didn't realise that you didn't start on the brakes yet. Everything came out pretty neat so far though anyway.

even though you didn't finish you came along way and it look great nice job.

I know how you feel I got sick of working on my racer on the final stretch even though I wasn't in the build off I now have to fix the things I rushed and after I finished I didn't want to work on anything for about a month I was sick of it but id rather see you take your time because this thing is going to be sweet good job

Not really, ive been slacking but i have drivers ed, but i should get back on it, all the frantic working on it made me want a break from it. i guess next step is to work on a oil seal for the trans.

id be alot farther in my build if i didnt work 40 hours a week lol

Red needs new seals due to the thin oil he'll be using for racing purposes. 0w-20 mobil one in the crank case. Straight 20w in the peerless.

Probably not, at my work they need certification or something for mower racing. and it is a 1/4 mile track, so its way to big.

Oh well. Maybe some slow motion video of it tearing around if all goes well...

So a little update on this...

The brakes need to be re worked. I moved the splitter box because the cables seem so hard to move and engage the brakes. i even bought new cables. maybe its because i dont have a brake lever or something, but it isnt making me to happy. So, im moving the splitter box above the engine so the cables are a little more straight. Going to put the lever on the steering wheel instead. Move the gas petal to the floorboard.

I painted it a few weeks ago but it came out... rather discussing. Yuk! So im going to invest in some good paint and see how a new color rolls out...
