I think ive decided to use 1"x1" box tubing, and just drill a hole through it and make a spacer. box the ends too and weld the box to the plate. should be ok, not super ugly

| You could cut the ends of the square tube on an angle, that might look kind of neat. The openings between the square tube could have some screen or something over it, like a vent for belt cooling. | |

| Why not just let it protrude some? Or will the pulley be on the end there?
- If you just want a guard I would just weld angle iron on the bottom of the frame and shorten the ends, kinda like rails.
And it looks tiny lol, I guess your not that big so.

| Well the problem is its about 3/4" or so off the ground, and the crank is like almost right in the middle of the front and rear tires, the most common area it will bottom out. I'd like it level with the bottom if the frame so I have to space it out. | |

| Floating tractor mod... lol, this really helps when working under it. Think smarter not harder! Well i threw the pulleys on, and then just looked at it with a stock clutch from the original mower that ill be modifying. Pulleys simply are to big, so im going to get some pulleys from tractor supply, im thinking some 4" front and rear. The 7" pulley i had laying around from a previous project. So ill just grind the welds and re use the engine's hub. Then use the same clutch setup as my mechanical winch. | |

| Whats the reason for having the 700 so far forward? and I would increase the ground clearance some, looks impractical that low. | |

Way to late to change ground clearance. It's a speed mower, not ment for ground clearance. Battery is going behind the 700, so that's why it's positioned like that.

| This one is just the prototype. If ground clearance becomes an issue during testing, changes can be made before production gets into full swing. | |

Changing ground clearnce is really a lot of work, it wont ever change. I dont see myself driving in anything offroad besides my stone driveway and maybe grass.

I was just kidding, thought maybe you were going to start up a factory for these things or something... Anyway, any ideas for how the exhaust is gonna go? Where do the ports dump out on the cylinders, straight down? Seems like figuring out the exhaust will be a challenge with how small everything is, your legs kind of in the way and all.

| Machine the crank an inch shorter. Problem solved. Center of gravity still low. Its not like this engine will be repurposed right? | |

| Well.....uhhh..... I just made some lift blocks with boxed ends an they work awesome, and dont look bad at all. The crank shaft is now about 1/8" above the bottom of the frame rails. The blocks are welded solid to the plate. Bought some parts minus one lug nut/stud because i took all they had in stock. Working on this in the early morning.... lol Mocked up where the battery will be, and started modding the seat. I drilled holes in the frame and seat support, and ran some bolts through with nylon nuts. cut it where the batterys deck was and bent it stright. Then cut a plate out and welded that into place, it will help keep the battery from jumping around. When it was off the tractor i set it on the ground and jumped on it a few times. Good enough for me. I got the weldable pulleys from tractor supply and avoided paying $9 for a new 1" key'd hub by cutting off the old hub i had on this big pulley, came out way better then i thought Im doing 4-4 pulleys now, makes my feel better about clutching and have a hole bunch more space underneath now. Anyways, i got more parts today, Black part is a snowmobile steering arm, ill mod it for my purposes, but i had to cut the rod because the dam rod end was stuck in there good. The u joint will be for steering colum tilt, but im only using one, other one is a spare i guess. | |

| Those risers don't look too bad. Seat mount cut out around the battery is kind of neat. Makes it look nice and compact with everything stuffed together. Is the seat mount going to double as a battery hold down? | |

| Started on the clutch, i used a 2 inch idler, chopped and extended the stock clutch arm, and made that black bar brace to support the bolt. I also used the same black bar for the v belt idler. thick and works great. Clutched Tensioned Oh yea, the new 4 inch pulley is tacked to the hub, and a 4 inch on the 700 as you can see. To do's: Clutch petal arm Adjustable clutch linkage Clutch spring Figure out steering and achorman effect Steering console Tilt steering Dash Exhaust Mount seat Make Running boards Break chain 700 input oil seal Clean and convert 700 to oil fill Shim bevel input on 700 Get 3rd bearing brace for rear axle Finish battery box Test fire Mount gas tank Chain guard Mount electronics Fit and chop hood/mess with lights Test drive Paint!!! | |
