| a few pics of my first mower, wich I found after a mudslide and the people said "the thing don't mow no more, just take it" the headlights fell out in the mudslide, so it looks like this it came in the mud, but it was for pulling. when I find a transaxle I will put it back in working order I will see what to do with it. | |

| what do you guys think? should I use a 820 peerless (I found one for $180 but it needs hubs) or get a 700 (I can get one for $50 and I have a 1 1/4" axle for it but I need to machine a keyway for it, sprocket, beaks, and hubs. I have berings for it.) anyone think know witch setup whould be the best for trails, blazing trails, and pulling? please help me, as I haven't owned either one of these trannys before, and I don't know there weaknesses. | |

| I'd go with the 700 and live axle combo. It will be more work for you to set up, but worth it, IMO. You get better gearing options, a thicker axle, no diff to worry about locking, better braking options, etc. | |

| thanks, doc! if it works good I'll drop in my opposed twin out of the MTD (it was on this at one time, but it was too slow and the MTD was waiting for it's engine and tranny) | |

| I think so, as long as I clean out the old grease, and use all of the mounting holes. I use stock transaxles for pulling, and thy are holding up well. A 700 is just a transaxle without the gear reduction gears and axles. | |
