With a deal like that going on, I'd be putting up ads all over the places for scrap/junk mowers for free or even maybe $20. Pick them up, scalp what you want, bring them to your scrap guy, and totally clean him out of anything good.

lol aint a bad idea, but it aint just mowers, any scrap he will trade for parts

ok so the list of things still needing to be done to this mower
-get motor running perfect and mounted
-buy pulleys (4" for tranny and 8" for motor)
-install 4 speed in tractor
-fabricate gas pedal
-fab. brake pedal
-mount dump truck seat
-find a belt that i have that will work, or buy one
mount gas shocks on front end to stabilize steering more
make new steering wheel from chain

dont you hate when your taking a tire off a tranny and the whole axle pulls out...... Sad now i got to go buy the star bit to take apart this spicer and weld the spider gear to the axle, ill prolly do wboth sides, but its staying open

bud that has happend to me before lol i had to go buy that stuiped little star bit unlike a peerless that uses standard bolts thats the only thing i can see about spicers that sucks haha i cant wait to take my scrap in it might be a 2 way trip to the scrap yard for me good luck on your spicer tho.

go with the more spaced out tread, but cut the lugs so there's even more traction... my 2 cents.

There could be nothing more aggravating as a mechanic than coming across a repair that requires some stupid specialty tool you don't own.

I KNOW THAT FEELING!!! we have a 3 3/4" wrench here somewhere that we bought 4 years ago for a job, and now it might as well be a freakin anchor cause we have no use for it, (was on a construction site)
