i have a craftsman tractor and i removed the rearend and took it apart and put a clip on the axel and now it will not move but at low speed and ideal what i could have did wrong

hydro oil? it takes special oil for it to work right i believe

what kinda of hydro oil and where would i find it at i have never had any problems with my rear end befor but then again i never had a hydrostatic befor and i recently broke my 6 speed in my other mower to so now im done to nothing

This is why it is SO important to maintain a healthy diet... lol! 

For starts, is the oil level high enough? I don't know about "special oil", but a fluid drive system oughta be able to run on nearly anything (for awhile, anyway).  FWIW, I just did a quick search, and 15W40 seems a popular choice. (I don't have a hydro tractor, but have had to deal with hydraulic systems a few times)

ive seen hydrostatic transmission fluid bottles before at my hardware store. but theoretically yes any oil "should" work
