New snorkel and custom hood design for my mower

picked up parts for my snorkel k2500. home depot has 1 1/2" thin pkumbing pipe thay fitsthe round intake for the briggs carbs. i should have a picture up this afternoon when i get done putting mine together

Cool ya I have everything but the reducer from 3in to 1.5in

you might have to put a lot of pieces together to make that. i hope it works

Actually they sell an adapter for it I just have to go get it

well i got my snorkel done. exhaust tack welded together solid. and i found a shroud that fit :p do you know where i can find that reducer you were talking about so i can make an air box?

Lowes and online type what size to what size.

Looks good and haven't done much on the snorkel I spent today fabricating my custom straight side pipe sounds like a beast I'm making a thread now waiting for it to load

12.5 briggs flathead

hell of an engine. i have the remains of a 12.5 flathead :/ it was one hell of an engine even after burning my piston rings.... wouldnt stop running

Ya I've had two never blew them up yet even with the throttle trick  

yea. well i had it had been sitting for a few years . i took it out riding a few times and than one day it started smoking... now i just have my 17.5 hp ohv. i had a 13.5 hp i think it was that i snapped a valve stem on. it shot straight into the piston and wasnt fixable

So I changed up my design for my snorkel a little made it a lot simpler not completely finished yet but here's some pics

Should work fine. I dont think you will need an air box. The foam should keep stuff out fine.

That's similar to mine, and yes it id subject to getting wet, and bogging,

A simple shield would help that. Use a bigger can and cut the top off, trim the sides to the height of the filter.
drill some drain holes in the bottom. adapt the bottom to whatever you are using for a filter base.

For my use, since I don't get a whole lot of mud access. I don't really worry about it.
