LMM's OFF-ROAD MOWER

I have this craftsman that's sort of like Doug's an TRB's and everybody else's but it has a smaller hood.  It is a 6 spd I think it is a FOOTE but I am not sure. The motor is a Briggs flathead 12.5hp with new flywheel teeth (just replaced them today).
 
*edit...actually it is a 13.5 hp briggs*
 
MODS SO FAR
-gas pedal to carb
-20''tires instead of 18's
-hood straps
-different seat
 
MODS TO DO
-side shifter where lift lever was
like TRB did to his
-pulley swap
-weld diff
-put shocks on front axle
(to handle better in turns)
 
-there are some on my list that I didn't mention but if you have any good ones let me know!!

I do have a bumper...cup holder......hmmmm possibly it could happen later down the line.

Thanks man I still am not 100% sure about shocks, if I do go with them I'll have to make little towers inside the hood for them. That should be the only really hard part.

i am looking for 2 6- 10 inch coil overs for dixie for when i redo the front lift lol

check my build out and you can see how i did my shock towers for my gas shocks

hmm good point my beer holder can hold alot of beer and other drinks but my (my red cooler lol)

Today I started to make my side shifter (thanks to TRB) so far I have everything except the linkage from the shifter to the trans-axle and some of the plastic bushings for in the dash. For a start I cut literally everything off the shaft to lift the deck then I welded a rod from an mtd on the shaft and put a knob on the end.

Well I am still figuring out some different ways how to make my linkage because I might have to slot the frame for the arm that comes off of the lift rod to move the rod that goes to the shifter arm on the trans-axle. But other than that everything works really good.

My tractor looked exactly like yours when I started .

Yes. Also I was working on locking my differential today it should be done by tomorrow.I also found something interesting because I thought that my tranny was a FOOTE but actually it is a peerless 930 or something like that.

I should have pictures up tonight when I can get them off my phone.

Redline: Yes I found that tag but it was hard to read.

BAD NEWS... So the other day when I locked my trans-axle it worked fine, but yesterday the lock broke.  So as I am writing this I just got finished pulling the trans-axle back out...AGAIN!!
So hopefully when we lock it this time the lock will hold.

Sucks your lock broke, you should be glad it's a peerless and not a Foote cause peerless's are stronger!

P.S The brake handle is just a mock up broke version..it will later be replaced.

i was thinking about doing a hand brake like that but the handle horizontal for better grip. that will be really cool tho
