| Yeah-I had it flipped over so I could remove the last of the rusty frame remnants without having to work laying on my back. I DID manage to get the body tacked to the frame tonight (WOOHOO, it FIT!!!) but it was too dark for pics when I finished. | |

| LOL- Thanks!
Bummer- I was hoping to get some more done tonight, but it's been raining all afternoon, and I have this inexplicable aversion to combining arc welding and water... Crap.

| I haven't fully decided on the floor yet. Originally it was plywood, and it might be again. Alternatively, I been thinking about 1x6" fence boards. I have to think it out carefully before proceeding because I want to work tie-down points into the floor, too.
The truck in the background is my buddy's. It's a '95 Hino Fb (IIRC). He wanted a diesel to play with, and picked it up cheap as the frame is done and so are the brakes. He's trying to decide what to do with it. One option is put the engine (4cyl turbo diesel) and tranny into a pickup truck. This is the same guy that sunk his tractor in my WHOOPS! thread...

| A bit of progress for today. I began by cutting two 2 1/4" lengths of 1 1/2" Sch40 gas pipe, and welding one to each side of the frame behind the wheel. Using the ring-mount tongue jack, I can service the bearings or change the tire at the side o' the road without digging through my vehicle for the crappy factory scissor jack... I also dug into the loading ramp. It WAS just a big ramp that dropped down. Not anymore!!! I began by whipping out the trusty grinder, and cutting the entire ramp in half lengthwise. Now, it's 2 ramps- left and right. I used a length of 1"x1/8" angle along the open side of each ramp. I did some experimenting towards the desired end result- ramps that could either swing down, or out- barn door style- depending on which hinge pins you pull out... | |

| Thats a great idea. I probably never would have thought of that. Now you wont have to remove the ramps if you dump. Head Forum Administrator ** Chat Moderator ** Facebook Page AdminATLTF Facebook Page ** Chatbox ** How To Upload Pictures
