This little guy decided he wanted a tractor since i was building a big one (https://www.atltf.com/t2189-monster-work-tractor) so i thought,,, Hey ill build a racing tractor but with a lock out in like 2nd gear so the little guy wont be able to go more than 10 mph when he rides it.

The Little Guys Idea.

By the way this thing has a 6 speed tranny and is gonna get a 3 or 4 horse power push mower motor and hopefully a billet flywheel and crank but thats when i get more money to spend.

Very cool, I'm sure the little guy will have a ball.

I don't think you're going to have much luck finding billet parts for a 4hp vertical. But then, are they really necessary? IMHO, leave the engine's internals stock. Governed, too if you're concerned. Later on, when he's got some experience behind the wheel, swap out the engine for something a bit more capable and upgradeable.

ive got a 6.5 horsepower pressure washer motor i need to clean the carb and pull it off the pressure washer but i had it running once and its practically brand new and has loads of power and torque. i also have a torque converter im gonna see if the engine shaft is the same as the driver from the tourque converter. if so than that thing is getting bolted on there and im gonna build a dirt/ mud sheild around it. What do yall think about that?

A 6.5 and CVT is a great combination. The pressure washer shaft should be 3/4", but you've given no indication what the CVT is off of- so we're just guessing. However- is that 6.5 a horizontal shaft engine? If so, what's your driveline plan?

I belive its a comet it was on a gokart with a 6 horse motor. the input shaft for th CVT is 3/4 inch and the output is 5/8ths with is ironically the same as the input shaft on my transmission.

its a vertical shaft. the driveline is going to be the motor with the cvt driver and then either a really long belt that works with the cvt or a jackshaft with a sprocket and chain going to the input on the transmission.

im thinking about going with the chain and sprokets

Please use the edit button and consolidate your posts into one if you are gonna post that close together. 3 posts in 5 minutes on a topic that hasnt been replied to is a little unnecessary.

I built one for my kid when he was 4. Did about 15. When you pushed the gas, it would engage the clutch first, then apply throttle. That way if you fell off, or bumped the shifter, it would not go. 5 speed with 6 horse push motor.

Chain and sprockets it is. CVT belts are DEAD specific in length and profile. You can't use just any belt, no matter how hard you try. You don't happen to know what model CVT it is, do you? Post a couple good pics and I can identify it for you.
