Above is suspension Junkstar mentioned via Youtube video. This mod was in 2008.

You can also fabricate front suspension by using guide bolts, valve springs from a V-8,and valve retainers.

If I get another shock, I was thinking of doing that to the Rally since my moped shocks wont fit in with the Vtwin.

A single transverse leaf spring would not be a simple system. You would need to stop forward and back movement, side to side movement with the shackles. You would have arms and pivot points all over. It would look cool, but a real pain to set it up.

Think he means instead of those above, so would be easy.

fearless on his murry mudder has a solid front end. do you think that's good? I kinda want to do it

I locked the front on mine and while the rode is a bit rougher its not too bad. My locker (a 5/16" bolt) actually wore out or something so I have like 1/8" of play.

If you wanna get your ass kicked you should, why do you think dune buggies or similar have a throw of 60". - smooth ride.

You cpuld but you would have to have a 4 or 3 link setup to keep the axel in place.

This is the front of my murray widebody LT. This is the 4 link bars on the side of the frame. Front - Front Suspension Image15
This is the panhard bar on front. Front - Front Suspension Image16
This is the front look at the motor and shock tower Front - Front Suspension Image11
This is the finish product.           Front - Front Suspension Image14
This is mostly made of lawnmower parts and some off of a chineas atv. I rebuilt the steering and changed it all over to single tierod and atv tierod ends. All link rodends come from www.racingrodends.com. Link bars where custom made out of tool steel. Works great.

Thanks alot. I wonted to keep it as original lookin as possible. Your build sparked alot of ideas as well. I had thought of mounting tranny on its side how does that work out. The hardest part of the front suspintion was working out the shock tower and how to support it and keep it all under that small murray hood.

Ya same here was going for the stock look. Trans works great and you could run any style of suspension with it that way.

i litterally was mocking up the same sort of design and i decided to do some more research and i found your build. which is exactly what im trying to do. If you dont mind me asking but are your shocks compressed at all and if so by how much? this is the only part of the build that im am still trying to work out. thanks and your build looks great

The shocks are not compressed any when im not on it. They may be a 1/2 inch when on it. This is one of the best mods iv ever dun to it. I also changed all the steering to make it handle better at high speeds. Any questions feel free to ask.
